Abbie Chatfield tearfully shares intimate story of her own abortion experience as she weighs in on historic Roe v. Wade decision

Abbie Chatfield has weighed in with an emotional response to the U.S. Supreme Court‘s decision to overturn the constitutional right of all American women to access an abortion service legally.

The original decision, known as Roe v. Wade, was made in 1973 and it meant that States in the U.S. were unable to ban abortions.

The former Bachelor star, 27, posted to Instagram on Saturday with the message: ‘Will speak about Roe v. Wade on next week’s podcast, too emotional right now to summarise it.’

Abbie posted a tearful selfie with the message.

Later on Saturday, she re-posted a video from 2019, in which The Masked Singer star shared intimate details of her own abortion experience at age 22.

The star captioned the post: ‘My abortion story video from 2019 for anyone who needs to hear it.’

The outspoken podcaster also informed her followers of upcoming street protests defending abortion rights in most major capitals including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Explaining the reason for wanting to share her abortion story, Abbie said that she wanted to help those struggling with the issue.

At one point in the video Abbie said that even talking about her abortion experience made her heart race.

She added that there was a ‘needless taboo and stigma’ women felt about abortion and the video was made to help her and others heal.

Celebrities the US have voiced their outrage over the Supreme Court decision.

Comedian Amy Schumer shared a link to the pro-abortion organization Bans Off Our Bodies.

Actress Viola Davis added that she was ‘gutted. Now more than ever we have to use our voice and power! WE the people.’ 

Meanwhile, Australian-run software juggernaut Atlassian has vowed to help pay for its American employees to get a safe abortion, saying it ‘stands firmly against’ the US Supreme Court ruling.
