AFL star Brad Green has opened up about his new relationship with a racing presenter who he met just four months after his wife suddenly died.
Anna Green, who shared two children with the former Melbourne Demons captain, died after complications from eye surgery in May last year.
Green, 39, met Channel 10 racing reporter Caty Price, who is dubbed the ‘Princess of the Punt’, last September while watching his old club play.

The pair had a social media connection, and their relationship continued into the 2019 spring racing carnival.
‘I had never met Caty. She was with a friend who came up to pass on her condolences [for Anna],’ Green told the Herald Sun.
‘We chatted for a bit and I later saw a post on Instagram about the Demons winning and I commented saying it was lovely to meet you yesterday. That’s all it was until we saw each other again at the races. We then started chatting and connecting and it went from there really.’
Price, who has reported on horse racing for the past 15 years, said her mind ‘didn’t go straight to’ pursuing a romantic relationship with Green given his wife’s recent death.
‘We trod very carefully in the beginning but he is hard to resist and then as things started to progress you realise that he’s someone who is so genuine with such a kind and beautiful heart,’ she said.
Price and Green made their debut as a couple in February this year when they attended the MRC Foundation Blue Diamond Ball at Caulfield Racecourse.
The 39-year-old AFL legend admitted they were both nervous about going public with their romance.
A week after Anna’s death, Brad spoke of his heartbreak at losing his beautiful wife.
‘Our lives are changed forever, but you will live long in our memories,’ he said, according to The Herald Sun.

He also spoke of the love she had for their two boys, before adding at how ‘amused’ she’d be that the service was being held at a football ground.
‘I can hear Anna say these words now: ”Brad, why is my funeral service at the bloody football ground? Again, football has taken over my life”.
‘I would have said: ”Well, my darling, we needed to find a venue big enough for your family and beautiful friends to come along”.’
The couple grew up together in Tasmania, but only started dating in 2002 when they reconnected in a chance meeting and caught up over dinner.
They married on December 28, 2013, the year after Green retired from the AFL.
He later worked as an assistant coach for Carlton and North Melbourne.
