For most foodies, there’s nothing more delicious than a good tray of perfectly cooked roast potatoes.

But if you’re one of the many home cooks struggling to bake the spuds to perfection, Aldi has found a culinary solution to save you from any kitchen disaster.

The Australian supermarket chain has launched a new range of potatoes roasted in goose fat – and it costs just $4.

The latest frozen food offering has hit the freezer aisles across the country – and it’s set to save you a lot of time, money and even your sanity.

‘Crunchy, golden, fluffy potatoes roasted in rich goose fat,’ the product reads.

Shoppers are raving about the 1kg bag of potatoes, with many saying they were able to a lot of time with the ready-to-cook product.

‘I had the spuds for tea and omg they were heaven! Worth the buy,’ Tamara said.

Belinda said: ‘Can report cooked in the oven they were delicious and moist. Did give them an extra five mins on extra high heat to really brown them up.

‘They are good, of course not as good as homemade but obviously a lot easier. Quite varied in size so you may find some cook faster than others.’ 

After cooking them in two different appliances, the woman said the potatoes cooked well in her oven (35 minutes) and air fryer (10 minutes).

‘Oven marginally better but probably not enough to offset the convenience of the air fryer. Nice and moist inside with both methods,’ she said.

‘Now let’s hope they stay stocked for a little while.’

Many customers said they were excited to try the new product, with others said they would make the perfect addition to the Christmas spread.

‘I need the potato,’ Jennifer said.

Mel said: ‘The spuds would be tasty.’
