‘What sort of a monster must I be now?’ Alice Evans reacts to being told she was ‘stunning in her 20s’… after posting about being ‘fat and horrible’ compared to her ex’s new girlfriend
Alice Evans has shared a post reflecting on her appearance after reading a comment from a troll who told her she was ‘stunning in her twenties’.
The actress, 54, admitted the remark made her ponder over whether she was a ‘monster’ now, but insisted she didn’t think her looks were ‘that bad’.
It comes after she posted about being ‘fat and horrible’ compared to her ex Ioan Gruffudd‘s new girlfriend Bianca Wallace, in a now-deleted post that risked violating his restraining order against her.
Offended: Alice Evans has shared a post reflecting on her appearance after reading a comment from a troll who told her she was ‘stunning in her twenties’
Alice explained that she had read the opinion and originally thought it was a ‘nice thing’ to say, before wondering what it meant for her appearance now.
The mother of two, who said she rarely reads comments about herself, said: ‘So yesterday I happened to read a comment about myself that said ‘but she was STUNNING in her twenties though’
‘See this is why you shouldn’t read comments (and I rarely rarely do. Masochism isn’t my thing).
Thoughts: The actress, 54, admitted the remark made her ponder over whether she was a ‘monster’ now, but insisted she didn’t think her looks were ‘that bad’
‘Because although I was initially thankful to the person for saying such a nice thing, I then started to wonder…. But WHAT SORT OF A MONSTER MUST I BE NOW??
‘So earlier on I was trying out some different light angles and make-up to shoot a Cameo request, almost scared to look back at them (although I have to. This is my job at the moment!)’
Reflecting on her verdict after checking out the clip, she said: ”And weirdly- they weren’t THAT bad! Ladies! Let’s embrace ageing in whatever way we wish! Gracefully, disgracefully, surgically or non. Friends and haters – This is 54!!!!!

Admitting she had slightly tweaked the snaps, she said: ‘Yes I know they’re good angles and I have make up on and I removed some dry skin and weirdly long nose hairs I hadn’t noticed.
‘But still. F**k it. As long as you never leave the phone camera on front facing abs accidentally open it looking down, none of us are doing that badly really!
‘Love you all. Even the haters!’

She claimed she was being gaslit and being called ‘fat’ and ‘horrible’ compared to ‘B’ – taken to mean Ioan’s new girlfriend Bianca Wallace.
This goes against the terms of the restraining order obtained by Ioan which bans Alice from mentioning him on social media for three years.
Illegal: It comes a day after Alice risked violating her restraining order from her estranged husband Ioan after once again taking to social media to post about their separation
The Welsh actor had hoped the new restrictions would end the public falling out between the pair, whose acrimonious split in March 2021 and consequent slanging matches threatened to overshadow their respective careers.
But Alice took to her Instagram on Monday morning, to write: ‘I’m working out to try to calm myself down because I am being GASLIT. Freaking GASLIT.
‘With my kids, with the places I usually go to. Everything. I can’t leave the house without being photographed and told that I am fat and horrible whereas ‘B’ is so slim….
Accusations: The mother-of-two, 54, claimed she was being gaslit and being called ‘fat’ and ‘horrible’ compared to ‘B’ – taken to mean Ioan’s new girlfriend Bianca Wallace
She signed off: ‘… I cannot deal for much longer.’
Ioan had previously won a temporary restraining order against Alice the mother of his two daughters Ella, 12, and Elsie, eight, in February claiming he was inundated with messages and verbal threats from her.
But on Tuesday, a U.S. judge confirmed harsher restrictions had been put in place, including a ruling preventing Alice from leaking private text messages from their children.

A source said: ‘Ioan had no choice but to up his legal fight over Alice.
‘She had become increasingly volatile and seemingly intent on destroying his career with her character assassination. He hopes this will put an end to it.’
Ioan was in attendance inside the LA court to witness the Domestic Violence Restraining Order granted, but Alice did not appear.
In new court documents, Ioan claimed Alice continued to cause him issues and wanted additional provisions added to the existing restraining order.
Order: He demanded Alice should not make any posts on any social media account, ‘including but not limited to Instagram and Twitter accounts, disparaging or harassing [Ioan] or the other protected person’
He demanded Alice should not make any posts on any social media account, ‘including but not limited to Instagram and Twitter accounts, disparaging or harassing [Ioan] or the other protected person.’
The other person is listed as Ioan’s new girlfriend, Bianca, who he started dating shortly after their split.
Plus, he requested Alice not to post his text messages or any other communications to the parties’ children, or the children’s text messages or any other communications to Ioan, on any social media account.
He also asked for the judge to order Alice not to contact his employer or make disparaging statements about him to his employers.
Further in court documents, Ioan said since the restraining order was put in place, Alice ‘has used her social media accounts to continue to harass, threaten, and disturb the peace of both me and my girlfriend, Bianca Wallace.’
Father: Fantastic Four actor Gruffudd filed for joint custody of his two daughters Elsie, eight, and Ella, 12, after his estranged wife, Evans filed for sole custody
Last month, The Vampire Diaries actress Alice shared a screenshot appearing to be between Ioan and one of his daughters, who is thought to be asking him to sign paperwork so that she can stay at her school – amid allegations that he stopped paying her fees.
Alice told her 86,000 Instagram followers: ‘You see – I have no money.
‘I gave up my career because I wanted the love of my life to have an amazing career and that leaves him being away most of the time.
‘And I gritted my teeth and I got through it. I missed working’ oh hell I missed working’ but I didn’t want a day to go by without seeing my two incredible girls. So their was an upside.’
Calling out Ioan’s alleged spending habits, she continued: ‘He is STILL trying to ruin my name, filling out petition after petition … daring to say that I am the ‘bad parent’?
Declaration: Ioan went public with his actress girlfriend Bianca in October last year and was captioned: ‘Thank you for making me smile again’
‘(Check out his Guardian interview from 2020. Ask my kids. As anybody that knows us. Being called a ‘bad parent’ when I gave up everything for them and don’t sleep at night in case and worry about how to feed them, check their health, take them to the dentist…. [sic].
‘Those of you who might think ‘well why is she CONTINUING to post on Instagram when his lawyers are going to take her down for it?’ But think about it.
‘He is spending money that should have gone to the girls education, sports, college, on using a lawyer to gag me.
‘I don’t have this money and neither do I believe in the corruption of the TRO to shut somebody up when they’re trying to say their piece,’ she penned. ‘HE gets to say it. HE get to to lie about me being a bad parent (You couldn’t get further from the truth.)
‘But me? I get threatened with fines, with jail if I tell MY TRUTH about what is really happening. And all I have is social media because I can’t afford a lawyer. Isn’t that a microcosm of rich and poor America? I will likely go to court for posting this. (Another example of the way he treats his children).’
Alice added: ‘He may well be lauded for doing the right thing. For going through the courts. He may well get to take my kids away from me (good luck with that dude).’
The previous month in June, Alice claimed she was ‘completely out of money for food and bills’ while sharing a video of daughter Elsie.
She wrote: ‘Trying to hold it all together whilst being threatened, completely out of money for food and bills and just found out somebody tried to break down our outside door last night!
‘But it’s all worth it for this (and the one who doesn’t want to be photographed.’
Ioan and Alice met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000 and married seven years later.
The Welsh actor filed for divorce in March 2021 citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split.
The document, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 1, revealed the former couple separated on New Year’s Day – a month before they went public with their relationship status.
Ioan went Instagram official with new girlfriend Bianca last October with a post saying: ‘Thank you for making me smile again.’
Alice reacted furiously, ranting: ‘So it turns out my husband, after two years of telling me I’m a bad person and I’m not exciting and he no longer wants to have sex with me . . . has been in a relationship for three years behind my back.’
Happier times: Evans and Gruffudd met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000, when the actress was in a relationship with Pablo Picasso’s grandson Olivier (pictured in 2001)
