Former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin said Thursday that she helped Cassidy Hutchinson provide additional information to the January 6 committee after the top Mark Meadows aide had her initial interview.

‘Cassidy actually came to me and said, “There’s more I want to share with the committee,” a couple months ago,’ Griffin said on CNN‘s New Day. ‘I put her … in touch with Congresswoman Cheney. She got a new lawyer and that’s how this testimony came about.’

Hutchinson testified Tuesday that former President Donald Trump knew that his supporters had weapons when they attended his Ellipse rally the morning of January 6.

Hutchinson also told the Democrat-led committee that Trump wanted to join them at the Capitol Building – so much that he threw a tantrum in his SUV – and threw a plate of food at the wall when he found out Attorney General Bill Barr had publicly knocked down his false claims of widespread voter fraud.

Griffin, who’s a friend of Hutchinson’s and who had resigned from her Trump White House post in December 2020 and evolved into a Trump critic, explained that ‘Trumpworld was assigning lawyers’ to low-level staffers who ‘don’t have big legal defense funds.’

Griffin said it was her understanding that Hutchinson’s original lawyer was a Trumpworld-provided one.

‘She did her interview, she complied with the committee, but she shared with me, “there is more I want to share that was not asked in those settings. How do we do this?”‘ Griffin said.

‘And in that process, she got a new attorney of her own,’ she continued.

‘Congresswoman Cheney had a sense of what questions needed to be asked that weren’t previously. So that’s how this shocking testimony that people didn’t realize before kind of came about and it didn’t come up in some of her earlier interview, some of these facts,’ Griffin added.

Since Tuesday, Trump has lambasted Hutchinson, who worked in the White House’s legislative affairs department and also as a top aide to Chief of Staff Meadows.

Among his complaints: she changed out her legal representation.

‘Cassidy Hutchinson also forgot to tell the Unselects that she was desperate to go to Florida with certain others of the Trump staff, long after January 6th had come and gone,’ Trump posted to Truth Social Thursday evening.

‘If I was so evil, why did she fight so hard to stay a part of the MAGA TEAM? This is all documented in writing! Why did it take her so long to tell (make up!) these ridiculous and obviously Fake Stories, even after previously sitting for four long depositions?’ he asked.

‘Was it, just maybe, her brand new lawyer? Lying under oath???’ the former president said.
