American Horror Story: Delicate OFFICIAL trailer shows Kim Kardashian’s acting debut alongside Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne in full for the first time
Kim Kardashian‘s acting chops could be seen for the first time in the American Horror Story: Delicate official trailer alongside the likes of Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne.
The two-minute clip was released on Wednesday as it featured the 42-year-old mogul saying her first lines in the Ryan Murphy horror anthology series.
It opens with Kim telling Emma: ‘You are an A-list star now. Focus on the good.’
Emma portrays a top actress named Anna Victoria Alcott while Kim portrays a friend and aging actress Siobhan Walsh.
The plot follows Emma’s character, who has had multiple IVF treatments and begins to become paranoid that mysterious forces are keeping her from getting pregnant.
She eventually does conceive a child, but the pregnancy ends in what doctors tell her is miscarriage. However, she can still feel her baby growing as her body continues to show signs of a pregnancy.
As if the challenge of creating offspring wasn’t already enough, it appears as if the protagonist’s career (and life) hangs in the balance.
Kim could be seen in a distorted image in the trailer as she queries Emma: ‘Do you want an Oscar? Do you want it as much as a baby?’ to which the protagonist quickly responds yes.
As if that already wasn’t enough, Cara Delevingne plays a rather creepy character named Meg who could be seen eerily waving at Emma’s character.
Emma tells her husband Dexter Harding (played by Matt Czuchry): ‘That woman, I think she’s following me.’
The 13th season of the FX horror anthology series premieres on September 20 and is adapted from the horror novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine.
‘It is essentially a horror novel about pregnancy,’ Valentine shared with Entertainment Weekly.
In April Kardashian dropped the surprise news that she would be starring in Delicate on her Instagram page as she posted a trailer from the season.
It had eerie music with the words: ‘AHS12. Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate. This summer.’
Kim simply captioned the short clip with eyes and a drop of blood emoji.
The season was written by Halley Feiffer, who also served as showrunner. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy said: ‘Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.’
The first part of American Horror Story: Delicate will premiere on FX on September 20.
