A pro-Israel customer has confronted an employee at a California Apple store after spotting a Palestinian flag on her jeans.
The tense exchange was captured on video and posted to X, formerly Twitter, showing a manager at the Irvine location in Orange County stepping in to diffuse the situation.
The customer, who is filmed the encounter, can be heard calling the female employee a ‘terrorist’ who is ‘supporting f***ing Palestine.’
In response, the worker simply smiles at the camera while proudly pointing to her garment saying ‘right here.’
A store manager then approaches the irked customer who then directs his attention towards her, demanding to know why she allowed the worker to wear the pro-Palestinian garment.
‘Why she is wearing this flag? the man asks the manager before saying ‘do you know what Hamas did? They beheaded babies.’
Rather than get into a political discussion, the manager simply tells him that he would need to leave the store and that security will be called if he fails to comply.
‘We will call security. We don’t need you to harass her,’ she states.
The man replies, ‘I am harassing nobody.’
The manager responds, ‘Is there anything we can help you with outside of this?’
‘I wanna know why did you let them wear this? Is she supporting Hamas? If not then why is she wearing this flag? Why did you let them wear this flag?’ he asks.
‘Is she supporting [terror group] Hamas?’ he demands to know.
The woman wearing the offending flag then puts her hands up to the camera and tells the supposed customer to ‘stop screaming.’
But the customer continues stating how Hamas ‘f***ing beheaded our babies.’
‘That never happened’, the worker replies.
It then sees the cameraman calling the employee a ‘f***ing moron.’
The worker appears to get irritated but sensibly walks away from the situation just as the customer calls her a ‘piece of s***.’
The manager once again tells the harassing customer that he needs to leave the store.
‘Shame on @Apple for allowing this celebration [of] Hamas by an employee at an Apple Store,’ one X user said. ‘Why call it a place for community when it’s now just a political stage for your employees?’
‘Apple you want to be boycotted next?’ another asked. ‘Identify these employees and FIRE THEM.’
‘I am writing as a Jewish customer and stockholder,’ said another X user. ‘The store’s staff is making Jewish customers feel unsafe and attacked. Hamas, the elected ruler of the Palestine entity, recently kidnapped and murdered 1,800 Israelis and Americans. Please urgently advise.’
‘Employees that alienate potential or current customers ultimately hurt the revenues and Apple shareholders,’ another stated.
‘So Apple supports terrorism? Wearing the flag as an employee is harassment in and of itself. And a blanket endorsement by Apple that they support terrorism,’ another commenter noted.
