Austin Butler has been forced to address claim his voice has completely changed.

‘It’s funny because certain situations trigger it I think,’ he told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

‘You know, for one, being surrounded by his name everywhere and then two, it becomes I think as well something where I mean… that was the voice that I spoke in for two years.

‘It is so habitual at the end, you get done and you kind of don’t remember what your natural voice is.’

In May, fans on social media accused Austin of putting on an ‘Elvis voice’ despite the film having wrapped in March 2021.

The actor spoke with Variety at the 2022 Met Gala, and several Twitter users were quick to share their opinions on the noticeable change in the way he spoke.

‘Wait. Is that how Austin Butler really sounds? Like…that’s his actual voice? Maybe it really is giving Elvis. #MetGala,’ one fan tweeted.

Another added, ‘ain’t no way that’s Austin Butler’s voice.’

Meanwhile, other fans pointed out just how different his voice sounds now compared to his breakout role in the TV series The Carrie Diaries in 2013.

‘Love how everyone’s talking about Austin Butler’s voice cause real girlies knew him on the Carrie Diaries and the way he used to say “Bradshaw”… chills,’ on fan tweeted.

After investigating, several older interviews confirmed that Austin’s always had a relatively deep voice. However, the contrast seen from his recent appearances – especially during his red carpet appearances in Australia – simply can’t be denied.

‘My theory is it’s a ploy for award season to get that oscar nomination,’ TikTok user Keriann wrote alongside her video, while also saying: ‘The movie is done,’ Austin.
