Australian entertainment legend Jeanne Mitchell dies aged 82

Former Gold Logie winner and Australian entertainer Jeanne Mitchell has died. 

Known as Jeanne or Jeannie Little, the retired singer died at the age of 82 on Saturday.

Her daughter, Katie, took to Facebook to confirm the heartbreaking news. 

‘My mother has left the earthly plane,’ she wrote along with a photo of her as a young child sitting on her mother’s lap. 

‘This is a huge shock – but I’m so grateful. Love you all my friends.’

Little is best remembered for her role on The Mike Walsh Show which she starred in from 1974 to 2009.

She also coined the popular phrase, ‘hello darling’.  

Following a successful television career and even wining a Gold Logie for most popular television personality, Little was diagnosed with Alezehimer’s Disease.
