A beloved Australian brand has just launched the country’s largest ever lolly shop in a major city – with over 30,000 types of sweets on offer.
Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse first opened in Brisbane more than 40 years ago, and the chain’s latest addition is located in Melbourne‘s Highpoint Shopping Centre.
The massive 1,200sqm candy palace will open its doors to customers on November 11.
Sweets from dozens of countries have made its way to the city’s northeast location, with chocolates and candy from North America, the UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Turkey, and more gracing the aisles.
The store also contains the world’s largest variety of Pick ‘n’ Mix lollies, boasting over 1,000 sweets in the section – with options for everyone at the tip of their tongue.
One of the store’s major attractions is a giant human claw for children and adults – where people can dip down into a pool of chocolates and sweet treats to collect as many goodies as they can grab.
The perfect day out for children everywhere, the lolly shop also has a variety of exciting features.
Customers will find a bumble bee waiting to greet them at the entrance, a life-size dinosaur inside the store which moves and roars, and a story-time tree that narrates popular children’s stories.
Shoppers can also pose on the location’s impressive candy throne or enjoy a larger-than-life chair designed after popular tv show The Simpsons.
‘We want to create an experience that is like no other here in Australia or the world,’ owner Adiel Ben Karmona said.
‘Tom’s is more than just a lolly store, we want to be a place that inspires anyone who walks through our doors to bring some fun to their lives. Tom’s motto will always be to come for the experience we offer – the candy is a bonus.’
