Beauty and the Geek Australia: Tara confesses she’s ‘falling for’ Michael

Beauty and the Geek’s Tara confesses she’s ‘falling for’ Michael after his makeover – as the couple is sent home before the finale

Love is in the air for Beauty and the Geek’s Michael and Tara after they both said they were ‘falling for’ each other on Tuesday’s episode.

The couple went on their last date before the season finale, with the self-confessed ‘full-time geek’ organising a romantic picnic.

Michael felt it would be the perfect opportunity to express his true feelings for Tara.

‘I have definitely fallen for you and I can see myself falling in love with you,’ he said.

The 22-year-old mermaid performer then confessed she was also falling for him as well, before sharing a kiss.

‘It’s good to know that even though he looks like a different Michael now, it’s the same old Michael,’ Tara said in reference to his recent on-screen makeover.

‘He is very easy to fall in love with. I didn’t think I could ever meet someone that could actually make me believe in love again.’

It comes after the pair, who were sent home later on Tuesday’s episode, confirmed on Sunday they wanted to continue their relationship in the real world.

They made their feelings clear while playing a game of ‘Slow or Steady’, which is similar to the MAFS commitment ceremonies.

The duo had to write ‘steady’ if they wanted to make their relationship official, or ‘slow’ to remain just friends.

‘I met a girl that compliments me in all the best ways. I was not expecting this,’ he said as he opened his envelope to reveal his decision.

Tara then opened her envelope to reveal she had also written ‘steady’.

‘I’ve met a guy who actually made me believe in love again, so that’s pretty special,’ she said.

Michael and Tara were unfortunately sent home on Tuesday night, leaving Tegan and Anthony, Bri and Christopher, and Karly and Aaron left as the final three couples.

Tara told producers that 'it's good to know' that Michael is 'the same old Michael' after his makeover. Left, before. Right, after

But all had been revealed a day earlier when Channel Nine aired a promo that accidentally revealed the top three couples before the episode went to air.

In the teaser, which ran on Monday night, host Sophie Monk stands before three beauties and three geeks, before saying: ‘The winners of Beauty and the Geek are…’

The promo then cut to three couples – Tegan and Anthony, Bri and Christopher, and Karly and Aaron – confirming Michael and Tara didn’t make it to the finale.

Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to notice this, with one tweeting: ‘LOL at #BATG spoiling the final three in the final-four episode trailer. Twice.’

Another fan commented on a since-deleted Facebook post: ‘Seriously? Way to spoil your own show?’

Online bookmakers Sportsbet has been tipping Aaron and Karly to win since before the season even began airing.

They are still the favourites as of Wednesday morning with short odds of $1.22.

Beauty and the Geek’s season finale airs Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
