Beauty and the Geek: Sophie Monk slams reality stars who complain about their ‘bad edits’

Sophie Monk slams reality stars who complain about their ‘bad edits’ and says HER show Beauty and the Geek is completely genuine

Beauty and the Geek host Sophie Monk has a blunt message for reality stars who complain about how they were portrayed on television.

She said on the Today show on Wednesday she was fed up with recurring complaints from reality stars about how they were misrepresented during editing.

The TV presenter, 42, also revealed the stars of BATG rarely if ever complain about their edits because it’s more positive and authentic compared to other dating shows.

‘There’s no one complaining about the editors,’ she told Today hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon.

‘It’s so rare for a reality show. The contestants all walk out of it saying, “This is the best experience of our lives,”‘ she added of the Beauty and the Geek cast.

She said that despite BATG having none of the behind-the-scenes cattiness of other reality shows, ‘it’s still entertaining… you’re laughing your a**e off.’

Sophie recently quashed claims ‘the geeks’ on her series are paid actors.

Rumours had swirled the cast of Channel Nine’s hit show are ‘too nice’ for reality television and it may be scripted.

The former Bardot singer, who has hosted the program since last year, insisted the cast of the show is completely genuine.

She told Now To Love: ‘The boys would be so flattered to hear that [people think they’re actors]. Someone even asked me if we geek them up more… I’ve watched their audition tapes, if anything they are less geeked up!’

Sophie had her own storybook romance earlier this year when she married long-term boyfriend Joshua Gross.

The former Australia’s Got Talent judge and her neurosurgical robotics consultant beau, 41, exchanged vows at their Central Coast home in March.

They chose to elope, inviting no guests for their private ceremony.
