Bindi Irwin has released a book honouring her late conservationist father, Steve.

The 22-year-old shared the exciting news with her Instagram followers on Sunday, stating the publication, titled Creating a Conservation Legacy, took ‘almost five years’ to complete.

The soon-to-be mother, who is expecting her first child with husband Chandler Powell, said the book was a compilation old pictures and journal entries.

‘Looking through countless archives, Dad’s old journals, Australia Zoo booklets and photographs tucked away in office corners. It’s finally here,’ Bindi captioned a series of pictures of her family with the book uploaded to Instagram.

‘I wrote this book to capture the very essence of our extraordinary 50 year history. Now, I’m sharing this journey with you.’

Creating a Conservation Legacy is being sold for $49.95 on Australia Zoo’s website, and was released on Steve Irwin Day, which is November 15.

The day was created by Steve’s wife, Terri, to mark the late Crocodile Hunter’s memory and honour his legacy after being killed by a stingray in 2006.
