Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan were spotted looking glamourous in 1940s styles as they shot a romantic street scene in New York Thursday.

The two are costarring in the film Maestro about the life of composer Leonard Bernstein.

Carey, 37, appeared elegant in an oyster colored frock with short sleeves and  shoulder pads as Bradley wore a gray suit and tie.

The A Star is Born actor’s naturally wavy hair was combed back in a short cut favored in the era. 

The sophisticated pair are portraying composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife, actress Felicia Montealegre, in the biopic which traces the couples’ relationship from their first meeting at a party in 1946 through the ups and downs of their 25 year marriage. 

The multi-talented composer is perhaps best known for his work with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and for scoring Broadway productions such as West Side Story and films such as On The Waterfront.

Felicia went from being an TV and stage actress to a social activist. 

The mother of three helped found the anti-war organization Another Mother for Peace in 1967. The group’s goal was to help educate women about the war in Viet Nam. She also hosted an evening for the Black Panther Party in 1970. 

The project, which is being directed by Bradley, has faced some backlash from the Latinx community with the British-born Carey playing a Chilean-American. Felicia’s children, Jamie, Alexander and Nina have given their blessing to the casting, with Jamie, 70, releasing a statement which read, ‘We’re absolutely thrilled that Carey Mulligan will play our mother in Maestro. Carey will surely capture Felicia’s unique combination of wit, warmth, elegant beauty and depth of emotion.
