Magician’s might be fairly common on Britain’s Got Talent, but it’s safe to say there’s not been one like Jasper Cherry on the show yet.
Saturday’s episode of BGT will see the judges be blown away by the 14-year-old, who surprises the judges and the audience with an amazing egg trick.
Jasper begins his act by taking a red hanky and pushing it into his fist, before opening his hand to reveal it’s turned into an egg.
Already impressive, the young man then reveals the secret to the trick, and teaches the panel and the audience just how it’s done.
Jasper explains: ‘Today, I actually thought it would be fun to teach you the trick. Everything isn’t quite as it seems.
‘Because look, there’s a hole in the back of the egg and that’s where I’ve hidden another handkerchief.’
He continued: ‘So you take out your red handkerchief and you say you’re going to push it into your fist but what the audience don’t know is that it’s actually going into the hole.
‘So then you snap your fingers and show, look, it’s an egg. And the handkerchief is back in your pocket.’
Jasper told the audience that the one thing they mustn’t forget to do is to turn the egg the right way so the hole with the hanky isn’t visible.
However, his act wasn’t done there – spinning the egg around to reveal the ‘hole’ was actually a red sticker on the egg, Jasper then cracked it on the side of a wine glass, proving he had magicked up a real egg after all.
Hosts Ant and Dec were left with mouths agape at seeing the twist to Jasper’s trick, and the audience roared with cheers at his act, which also earned him a standing ovation from the judges.
What a little superstar.
Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
