British Summer Time 2022: Johnny Marr, Temples, Pixies and October Drift set to support Pearl Jam as full line-up is announced

The full line-up for Pearl Jam’s biggest London shows this July – at British Summer Time 2022 – has been announced. 

The Smith’s Johnny Marr, Pixies, Temples and October Drift are just some of the acts performing at the band’s headline shows on Friday 8 and Saturday July 9.

The previously announced Stereophonics are also set to be on stage, alongside Imelda May, The Last Internationale and La Luz.

Johnny – who was a guitarist for The Smiths – has since had a successful solo career which saw him complete a UK arena tour last month, in which he supported rock icons Blondie.

In 2021 he also worked on last year’s James Bond film with legendary composer Hans Zimmer.

Also joining the headlining alternative rockers is psych-rock trio Temples, who will return to BST Hyde Park for the first time in seven years.

The Northamptonshire natives formed ten years ago, entering the music scene with debut album Sun Structures, which quickly hit the UK Top 10. 

Brighton band Tigercub – which found success with songs Stop Beating on My Heart, IWGFU and Beauty – will perform on the Saturday.

Meanwhile pop rockers October Drift will hit the stage on Friday, July 8, marking the musicians’ Hyde Park debut.

Stereophonics’ place in the line-up was announced in February this year.

An unstoppable force in the UK’s alternative rock scene, Stereophonics have stood the test of time, releasing 11 albums over 3 decades, accumulating a massive 7 Number 1s among them. 

This year marks 25 years since the band’s formation and this legendary show will be packed with hits Dakota, Maybe Tomorrow, Have a Nice Day, new single Do Ya Feel My Love and many more.

This will be Stereophonics’ first major performance in the iconic Royal Park for a decade, following their monumental show in Hyde Park for the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

They’ve inspired countless bands with their hits, including ‘Black’, ‘Jeremy’, ‘ Alive’ and ‘Rearviewmirror’.

They’ve also been hugely commercially successful with more than 85 million albums sold worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, their first year of eligibility.

In 2018, the band performed two nights at the O2 Arena in London to rave reviews, with Classic Rock calling their last London show an ‘astonishing end – of -tour blow out’.

In 2020, they released the critically acclaimed album Gigaton.
