Moment bus narrowly misses group of three children on bicycles as it smashes into a row of parked cars

This is the moment a bus narrowly missed a group of children on bikes as it careered down a street and smashed into a row of parked cars.

CCTV shows as the bus hits the side of a van and ploughs into the back of a red saloon car at just before 4.50pm last Saturday on Alton St, Crewe.

The saloon is propelled into a car parked in front, which is shunted into a lamppost, and both vehicles spin into the middle of the road. The bus comes to a standstill on the pavement.

No children were injured in the crash, Chesire Police said.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: 'At 4.53pm on Saturday June 18, police were called to reports of a collision on Alton Street, Crewe. Officers attended and found a bus had [hit] four parked cars before coming to a stop on the pavement'

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: ‘At 4.53pm on Saturday June 18, police were called to reports of a collision on Alton Street, Crewe. Officers attended and found a bus had [hit] four parked cars before coming to a stop on the pavement.

‘A number of children were in the area at the time but thankfully there were no reports of any injuries. The road was closed while the damaged vehicles were removed from the scene.

‘The driver of the bus was shaken as a result of the incident. No arrests have been taken place.’

The daughter of a resident on the street said the incident ‘was just outside’ her mother’s house. She described it as ‘proper unfortunate’, but said ‘no-one was hurt.’

D&G has confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
