‘After three kids, this definitely pushed me to the limits like when I used to compete. I went in with a positive mindset though.

‘I knew that I could deal with pain knowing there is a finish line. We all have it in us,’ she added.

‘If you are put in an environment where you have your hack against the wall, you are stronger than what you give yourself credit for.’

‘You don’t need an excessive amount of food. You don’t need long, hot showers and you don’t need your phone to validate your every move,’ she said.

The WAG was quickly identified as the fittest woman on the show.

SAS Australia’s chief instructor Ant Middleton was immediately impressed by Candice on the first day of the selection course, naming her the fittest woman.

‘From what I’ve seen she is physically fit, she’s not necessarily suffering. She’s doing quite well,’ he said in the show’s premiere episode.

He added: ‘I think she’s actually probably the fittest at the moment, of the women.’
