The mum uploaded two videos sharing her shaving foam cleaning hacks.

Her first tip was to use the foam to ‘clean and remove odour’ from your toilet bowl and ‘disinfect’ the toilet brush.

She then used it to wash her bathtub, giving it a ‘glistening’ shine.

Carolina also used the foam as a stain remover, she says carpet stains will ‘wipe away’ if the product is left on the stain for 20 minutes.

She used the foam to clean stains out of her mattress in the same method as she cleaned her carpet.

She left the foam for 20 minutes than wiped it away with a cloth to reveal a stainless mattress.

The mum used the product to clean her sink and faucet, it removes water marks and makes the sink shiny. She also used it to polish mirrors and brass handles.

Carolina’s followers were suspicious of the hacks, branding them a ‘mess maker’ that don’t really clean surfaces.

‘I low-key don’t trust this advice,’ one woman said.

‘It doesn’t work at all, I tried it, super excited for nothing because it didn’t remove a single thing,’ another commented.

‘Seems like a waste of money when there are things literally designed to do this,’ another woman said.

‘Or you could by some cleaner which is cheaper,’ another wrote.

Many of Carolina’s followers took issue with the fact the mum said the product would disinfect her toilet brush.

Does shaving foam work as a cleaner?

* Shaving foam does have cleaning properties because it has compound called surfactants

* Surfactants are made up of detergents and fats. They reduce the surface tension between water and the object its put on and allows liquids to flow easily across surfaces, allowing dirt to be removed easily

* The foam also contains 30 per cent soap and also emulsifiers and emollients

* It has anti-bacterial properties

* The product is gentle yet effective due to it’s ingredients. It is great for cleaning, ovens, toilets, jewellery, carpets, and polishing stainless steel and glass

‘What is the benefit of using shaving cream as opposed to traditional cleaning products with anti-bacterial agents?’ one man asked.

‘How does shaving foam disinfect?’ a woman asked.

‘Shaving cream is not a disinfectant,’ another said.

However some fans endorsed the hacks, particularly for its power on carpet stains.

‘I used it on a rug stain where nothing worked. Amazing! I didn’t have foam, it was gel. Worked great,’ one woman said.

Others found the fact that the hacks work even more concerning than if they didn’t

‘Makes you wonder what those guys are putting on their faces though,’ one woman said.

‘Sometimes you wonder what’s in these products that we put on our bodies,’ another wrote.
