She balances motherhood with a career in television and radio.

And Carrie Bickmore was spotted running errands in Melbourne on Sunday morning, picking up a treat presumably for her loved ones, at a fancy bakery in the inner-city.

The 39-year-old host of The Project donned a face mask and showed off her trim figure in a white top, teamed with a pink sweater and black full-length leggings.

Carrie kept light on her feet in a pair of abstract Birkenstock sandals, and tied her newly chopped blonde locks into a ponytail at the nape of the neck.

She looked to have worn minimal makeup, and added an extra pop of colour in the form of red polish on her talons.

Carrying just her trusty iPhone, the mother-of-three headed back to her car with a cake box from Laurent French Artisan Bakery.

The sighting comes after Carrie shared the very relatable reason why she decided to chop her hair, following the easing of the Victorian capital’s strict lockdown.

In her column for this week’s Stellar Magazine, the TV star explained that cutting her hair felt like she was cutting away the ‘heaviness of 2020’.

‘Just the simple act of cutting it felt liberating. Like a physical and mental weight off my shoulders. Like I had cut away the heaviness of 2020,’ she wrote.

Carrie added that after weeks of the Victorian lockdown, simply going to the hairdressers was a ‘win’ no matter what her hair looked like.

‘Just the experience of sitting in the hairdresser’s, chatting with the stylist and having my head massaged felt like a win, regardless of the end result,’ she said.

And while the cut was a big change for her, Carrie admitted that she doesn’t have any ‘buyers remorse’.

‘[It’s] the sort of chop you instantly regret and vow to start growing again straight away. Only this time I didn’t have any buyer’s remorse,’ she added.

Carrie shares daughters Evie, five, and Adelaide, one, with partner Chris Walker.

She also has a son Oliver, 13, from her marriage to Greg Lange, who died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer in December 2010.
