Chemist Warehouse offers free makeup and skincare products through secret tab on website

An Australian shopper has discovered a little-known tab on Chemist Warehouse’s online store offering free makeup and skincare products.

The complimentary samples, ranging from serums and sunscreen to foundation and collagen protein, can be added to your cart with any online purchase over $30.

‘If you search “sample” online at Chemist Warehouse, a list of samples pop up that you can add to cart. Am I the only one that never know this?’ the customer wrote on Facebook.

Dozens of people quickly responded to her post, saying they never knew the hidden feature existed until now.

‘I was today years old when I learnt this,’ one woman wrote, while another added: ‘I  had absolutely no idea. Quite often get samples in store, but good to know you can get with your online order.’

Many described the free samples as a ‘game changer’ while others said it was a great way to sample products before buying.

‘I was just thinking this because I wanted to try a sunscreen without committing to buying the whole tube… great idea,’ one wrote.

And another added: ‘I’d be keen to sample. All the sunscreens and cleansers so I don’t have to waste money on things I can’t use.’

However the tab wasn’t news to some, including one mother who revealed she’s been adding samples to her cart over the past seven years.

‘I now have loads of sunscreens and mini protein bars,’ she said, along with a laughing emoji.

The post comes just weeks after beauty fans found a pop up store that sells excess stock – including makeup products from airports for a fraction of the price.

Bits & Pieces, located on Oxford Street in Sydney’s upscale suburb of Paddington, has been offering huge savings on high-end cosmetic brands, fragrances, skincare, fashion designer labels and popular children’s toys.

One shopper drew attention to the outlet after she snapped up beauty products such as MAC eye and face palette and Bobbi Brown’s concealer kit and a corrector at remarkably low prices.

‘PSA Sydney girls! There’s a shop opened in Paddington selling all ex airport stock,’ she wrote in a Facebook group in December.

‘Make up is reduced, and has an extra 40 per cent off the price on the pack. Sets are an extra 20 per cent off the reduced price, fragrances are discounted too. There is Estée Lauder, Armani, Mac, Benefit, Too Faced, Nars, Elemis, Dr Jart and heaps more.’
