‘I had my twins Leo and Penelope – I can’t believe they’re nine.

‘Honestly I can remember it like it was yesterday, they were born at 9:20 and 9:21, Leo was 6lbs 7 and a half and Penelope was 6lbs 10 and it’s just been unconditional love from that moment.

‘Honestly, it’s all I ever wanted.

The update comes after Paddy failed to mention Christine after he posted a birthday tribute to their twins Leo and Penelope on Saturday.

The reality star arrived back in the UK after jetting off to Croatia with songwriter Chelsee Grimes and a group of friends, with the pair holidaying together after developing a friendship while competing on TV show The Games.

Taking to his social media, Paddy, posted: ‘Happy Birthday to my first borns! 9 years old today and still my babies!!!! Love you Leo & Penelope, Daddy’s so proud of you.’

Paddy and Christine married in 2011 and are proud parents to three children, including twins Penelope and Leo and six year old Felicity.

The Top Gear presenter Paddy previously prompted speculation regarding the state of their marriage after appearing to remove a heart-shaped tattoo on his finger – understood to be a tribute to his wife.

Paddy got the inking done to make up for having lost his wedding ring twice since the pair married eleven years ago.

The presenter’s inked symbol of commitment to Christine was missing on Monday, when he appeared on Instagram with a bare hand alongside chef Chris Baber.

However, it is unclear whether the video had been flipped – because it is in selfie mode – and the tattoo is in fact still on his left hand.

Speaking previously about his romantic tattoo, Christine said: ‘My wonderful husband Paddy McGuinness lost his wedding ring… again… on our family holiday about two months ago.

‘He still hasn’t replaced it but today he is forgiven because he’s wearing a T-shirt with my picture on. #Over12years #StillStrong #HeHasItTattooedAnyway!’

His Instagram posts come just days after his wife jetted off on a girls’ holiday with three female pals including former footballer Chelcee Grimes, 30, to Croatia.

Paddy jetted off to Portugal the week before with friends while Christine captioned a set of pictures from her break: ‘I followed my heart and it led me to Croatia.

‘Memories for life, I’m feeling very lucky, so blessed. I’ve laughed so much, relaxed, and switched off like never before.

‘I definitely won’t be leaving it another three years before I catch my next flight.’

She commented on a picture of her The Games co-star Chelcee saying, ‘Where to next?’ alongside the plane and love heart emoji.

It was the couple’s 11th wedding anniversary on June 4, but it was a non-event, with neither posting on social media about the occasion.

Christine hasn’t shared an Instagram picture with Paddy since February, when she posted a promotional image of the pair to launch their first podcast, Table Talk, which discusses the realities families with ill or disabled children face.

The couple’s podcast follows their critically acclaimed BBC documentary Our Family and Autism, where they spoke in detail for the first time about raising their three children with the condition.

Paddy, who shares twins Penelope, and Leo, eight, and daughter Felicity, six, with Christine, admitted he found their diagnosis ‘hard to come to terms with.’

He said: ‘The early days when we knew nothing about autism were really tough.

‘The kids didn’t sleep; they’d have meltdowns at loud noises and bright lights and nothing we did helped. We kept the curtains closed and hardly let anyone into the house.’

Paddy’s biggest fear is that his children will fail to recognise how loved they are because their autism causes them to struggle with emotion.

In the documentary, which aired in December, Christine explained: ‘He’s said this for years about the love thing and it’s not something we’ve disagreed on, but Patrick has worried for years that the children might not feel loved, or they don’t understand it.

‘I’ve always said they do; they struggle to show it and struggle to appreciate sometimes everything that we do for them because they’re autistic.’

Christine was diagnosed as autistic herself during the documentary, confessing that she struggled in school, had few friends growing up, and preferred spending time on her own.

The Games contestant revealed she spent eight years of her marriage to Paddy inside their home because she felt uncomfortable around people.

She said: ‘In my 20s I had around eight years of just staying in and avoiding any kind of contact with anybody other than my husband. I just avoided everyone. I didn’t socialise, I’ve never really had friends so it’s never been an issue.

‘It’s something that I’ve thought for years and even at school I always felt different. I have known there is something.’
