‘It was disgusting’: Claire Foy admits she struggled to watch The Crown co-star Matt Smith in House Of The Dragon

Claire Foy played a young Queen Elizabeth opposite Matt Smith’s Prince Philip in The Crown

But she’s unhappy with his character, Prince Daemon Targaryen, in the Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon.

She revealed: ‘I’ve watched all of [it]. It took a huge amount of commitment, which waned towards the end.

The Crown star, 38, held nothing back as she added: ‘I was a very committed friend [of his character] but I disagreed with him in many scenes.

‘I then had to tell [Smith] that I found them disgusting to watch.’

House of the Dragon saw Matt’s character engage in an incestous relationship, with a young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) becoming romantically involved with her uncle, Prince Daemon Targaryen (Smith), before the older Rhaenyra (Emma) eventually married him.

Before they are wed, in the fourth episode of the HBO show, Rhaenyra and her uncle engage in another incestuous activity.

He takes his young niece to the Westeros capital of King’s Landing where she visits a brothel and the pair share a kiss.

Fans were also left aghast at Matt’s graphic sex scenes during the very raunchy premiere episode.

History: The pair starred in the first two seasons of the Royal drama as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, released by Netflix in 2016

The former Doctor Who star, 39, who played the heir presumptive to the Iron Throne, was seen enjoying a raunchy tryst with his prostitute mistress Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) in a brothel.

The actor was seen naked during the racy scene, with Daemon stopping mid-romp while appearing distracted as he dwelled on the possibility of his brother King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) replacing him.

House of the Dragon is returning for a second season and while the cast has yet to be announced, it’s belived Matt will reprise his role.

Meanwhile, Claire has had a difficult time recently after she has been dealing with a terrifying stalker, who had entered the UK illegally and showed up at her home.

He also sent the actress’ publicist Emma Jackson with more than 1,000 explicit emails… some of which refer to Foy being raped.

‘Obsessive’ Jason Penrose, 49, posed as a Hollywood producer and repeatedly targeted the award-winning actress – at one stage turning up at her home.

The American stalker bombarded Claire’s publicist Emma Jackson with more than 1,000 explicit emails, including one referring to rape between February 19, 2021 and February 7, 2022.

Penrose was told he faced at least 30 months behind bars for his ‘campaign of consistent stalking’ – during which he was sending thousands of explicit emails, eight switchboard messages and going to the star’s home.

In emails shared with the court, he sent graphic messages detailing Claire being raped and how he wished for her to be his girlfriend, also contacting her sister by email and ex-boyfriend by text.

On December 17, 2021, the Golden-Globe-winning actress was horrified to find Penrose had turned up at her home and was repeatedly ringing her doorbell, Thames Magistrates court heard.

And following court ruling, Penrose, who is originally from the USA, must surrender his passport to police, not apply for travel documents, live and sleep as directed by the Islington NHS Trust, not contact Claire directly or indirectly or attend an address he knows or believes to be hers.
