First of all, the woman said you should add a cap full of detergent into your machine along with a quarter of a cup of baking soda, a quarter of a cup of vinegar and five drops of lavender essential oil.

The vinegar acts as a fabric softener, while the bicarbonate of soda is ‘perfect for a deep clean’.

Meanwhile, the lavender essential oil is perfect for making your sheets smell fresh and amazing, and it will also help to put you to sleep, due to lavender increasing the production of melatonin.

Refined Living said this type of washing routine is perfect for sheets, but it will also work with many types of washing, including colours and whites.
