TOWIE’s Clelia Theodorou welcomes first child with boyfriend Tommy Cole – just months after being in a horror car crash
The reality star, 28, shared adorable first snaps of her newborn daughter on Instagram, revealing they have named her Cielo Elizabeth Cole.
Alongside a picture of the three of them, Tommy wrote: ‘The moment we were desperately waiting for came 2 weeks and 2 days early on September 16th 2023 at 6.53pm and we couldn’t be happier.
‘Mummy and Daddy’s little miracle, Cielo Elizabeth Cole decided enough was enough and she was ready to meet us!
‘The respect I have for @cleliatheodorou is immense. She managed to deliver her naturally with just gas and air in just a few hours. A real life superwoman. Both Mum & Baby are doing so well.’
Clelia and Tommy announced they were expecting their first child together in March, as Clelia took to Instagram to share a sweet montage video with fans.
In the clip she revealed her pregnancy test and baby scans, and showed off her blossoming bump.
She also shared an image of a baby grow in the video, which had the Canadian flag and Union Jack, along with the words: ‘Made in Canada… Coming to Essex… October 2023.’
The reality star captioned her post: ‘It’s been too hard keeping this one to ourselves, but we are beyond excited to tell you all that our little one is on the way! We cannot wait to meet you baby Cole.’
Clelia revealed she was dating Tommy in June 2021 when a fan quizzed her over the nature of their relationship.
It comes after Clelia revealed she has broken both her legs and feet after a horror car crash at the end of May which left her hospitalised.
The former TOWIE star detailed her ‘painful’ injuries as she provided a health updated via Instagram on Wednesday.
The TV personality, whose mother was tragically killed in the terrifying accident, revealed she has undergone ‘three surgeries’ and ‘still has another to get through’.
Clelia said she is ‘taking each day as it comes’ and gushed that their little bundle of joy is ‘keeping her going’ everyday and ‘making her more determined’ to get better.
She wrote: ‘My reality – 35 weeks pregnant, two broken legs and two broken feet. Broke more bones than I even knew you had in your feet and I’ll forever be setting off metal detectors at airports.
‘Three surgeries later, the healing process is going well. It’s a long, slow process but I’m getting there.
‘I still have another surgery to get through and there have been hard some pushbacks, unforeseen delays and a lot of pain along the way but the main thing is our little baby is battling through it with me, keeping me going each day, making me more determined and giving me so much strength, more than I ever I thought I would have in a situation as difficult as this.
‘It would be a dream to be standing, up on my feet before our bundle of joy arrives but I just have to take each day as it comes.
Clelia thanked partner Tommy for being ‘supportive’ and for becoming her ‘full time carer’ after ‘the worst day of her life’.’
She continued: ‘Having never broke a bone in my body or experienced anything even close to the pain and discomfort I’ve been through, I’m truly proud of myself and my body for how far I’ve come since that day, the worst day of my life.
‘@tommy.cole has not only been the most supportive, loving and understanding partner but he’s also had to turn into being my full time carer and I couldn’t get through a single day without him.
‘I can’t thank you enough my love @tommy.cole for your unconditional care & love.’
Alongside the message, the reality star shared a gallery of snaps including one of herself in a wheelchair with two black cast boots as she cradled her baby bump in front of the mirror.
In another shot, Clelia snapped a selfie as she lay in a hospital bed while hooked up to an oxygen tube.
Taking to the comments of the post, Tommy gushed that he is ‘so proud’ of his girlfriend and praised her for her bravery in the wake of the traumatic event.
He wrote: ‘Every day that passes is better than the day before and you’ll be back on your feet before you know it!
‘Very brave to post this, you’re stronger than you know and I’m so proud of how far you’ve come.
‘Plus I got some serious credit in the bank. You’ll be making the teas again soon don’t worry’.
Several fans and famous friends rushed to the comments to send well wishes to the TV personality, including a number of her ex TOWIE co-stars – Jess Wright, Ferne McCann and Frankie Sims.
Last month Clelia revealed that her mother passed away in a horror car crash which took place at the end of May.
Taking to Instagram, the pregnant The Only Way Is Essex star revealed that she too had been involved in the crash, which left her in hospital with ‘terrible injuries’ for weeks.
Although she is ‘continuing to heal’, she revealed her ‘beautiful’ mum tragically ‘couldn’t heal’ from hers.
Clelia wrote: ‘At the end of May myself and my Mum were unfortunately involved in an accident, we both suffered terrible injuries.
‘I am continuing to heal from mine after weeks in hospital but it’s with the biggest regret to say that my beautiful Mum couldn’t heal from hers.
‘The person I never, ever wanted to say goodbye to. Who loved me unconditionally, the pure definition of a mother’s love.’
Heartbroken Clelia described the pain as ‘paralysing’ and said that the loss was beyond words.
She added: ‘My heart will never heal from this, life will never ever be the same. It just doesn’t feel real and it never will, I just want my mum back.’
Clelia went on to say that her ‘precious miracle baby’ is doing well and ‘powering throughout it all.’
Paying tribute to her mum, she added: ‘I will always make sure they know how much you already loved them and I promise they will always know they had the strongest, most caring, hilarious, giving and loving Nan they could ever have dreamt of.’
‘I go through multiple emotions on a daily basis and the road to my recovery physically is a long one, but our miracle baby gives me so much hope and I will do everything I can to be even half the mum to my baby that my mum was to me,’ she said.
Along with the statement, the star shared a slew of throwback pictures of her and her mother.
At the time, Tommy also shared a statement explaining that he was ‘away in Marbella’ when he got the ‘call you never want to receive in your entire lifetime’.
He wrote: ‘Where do I start? To say the last 2 months of our life has been traumatic would be an understatement.
‘At the end of May, I received a call whilst I was away in Marbella, to say that Cle and her Mum had been involved in a tragic accident and had both sustained very serious injuries.
‘A call that you never expect to receive and one you never want to receive in your entire lifetime.
‘I flew home immediately and went straight to the hospital, a place in which we would stay day & night for the next 8 weeks. A place where we would receive the best and very worst news imaginable.
‘The good news was that although Cle had suffered terrible injuries, after surgery she would slowly recover and our brave little one was ok, is ok and is going to be ok. Our baby had come away unscathed, which under the circumstances is nothing short of a miracle.
‘Something we are both eternally grateful for. I am immensely proud of how strong Cle has had to be throughout all of this too.’
He continued: ‘It became impossible to enjoy that happiness as 2 weeks later, we lost Cle’s Mum, Gill.
She fought hard, as we knew she would, but she could not recover from the injuries she had sustained. This is an extreme loss of an irreplaceable part of the family.
‘An extremely special person to me, the whole family and practically anyone who she met. Gill was a tough nut with a brilliant sense of humour.
‘She never took herself too seriously and was happiest around other people laughing, someone who I would wind up at every possible opportunity and vice versa.
‘This whole situation still doesn’t feel real to me or Cle… Sometimes I’m sure you’ve just popped out to that nightclub, the one you used to go every night in your dressing gown with your handbag over your shoulder. I never did get an invite!
‘The world can feel cruel at times, that she will never get to meet her first grandchild or that Cle won’t get the opportunity to have her mothers guidance throughout this life changing journey, but I know you’ll be watching over us and your memory will live on through us and our baby.
‘It goes without saying that we are all hurting but genuinely touched with all the love and support we have received during this difficult time from our family and friends, who have gone over and above. We couldn’t do it without you all.’
Former Miss Great Britain Clelia first appeared on TOWIE in 2018 as Dan Edgar’s love interest, but she was given the axe in 2021.
The mass cull saw 10 cast members given the chop including the likes of Courtney Green and best friend Chloe Meadows, Kelsey Stratford and Harry Lee.
