An elite sports coach has been brutally bashed and had his head stomped on outside a nightclub.

Spencer Goggin was in Leederville, Western Australia, celebrating a friend’s birthday with a group on the weekend when the attack happened.

The 32-year-old, who is from Sydney, waited for a taxi outside Hip-E nightclub on Sunday morning before he was set on by a group of strangers and viciously beaten.

Mr Goggin managed to cover his head during the unprovoked assault.

He recorded a video and published it to his personal Instagram page on Tuesday to see if there were witnesses that could provide police with information or CCTV footage available.

In the clip, where he is seen with badly blackened eyes, he told viewers his head was ‘stamped on’ and he got ‘kicked in the face’ in the attack.

Mr Goggin said having his head stomped on was the ‘single worst feeling I’ve ever experienced’.

‘Had it not been for me covering my head up, I think we could be listen(ing) to a very different story,’ he said.

The sports coach informed viewers that he’s ‘yet to hear anything’ from WA Police as he implores witnesses to come forward with information or CCTV.

‘No one should feel grateful for just coming home alive from a night out, but it’s kind of how I feel at the moment.’

‘I don’t want any more people to experience this kind of thing because it’s a lot of head noise and it ain’t very good,’ he added.

The attack resulted in Mr Goggin suffering a concussion and facial bruising.

He’s been forced to take a week off from his job as a strength and conditioning coach at the NSW Institute of Sport due to his injuries.

He said to 7News: ‘It’s terrifying what I went through. I’m still dealing with it … I have a bit of head noise.’

Fremantle Police are investigating the assault.
