My Kitchen Rules’ Colin Fassnidge reveals what working with celebrity chef Manu Feildel is really like ahead of new season premiere
Colin Fassnidge has been filming the new season of My Kitchen Rules alongside his friend Manu Feildel.
And now, the Irish-born chef, 50, has revealed what it is really like working with the French-Australian cook, 49.
The duo filmed MKR New Zealand together in January and February before recently working on the new Australian season.
Colin told The West Australian on Saturday, he enjoys working with Manu because they know ‘how to get the best out of each other’.
‘We’re like a married couple, we’ve worked out how to get the best out of each other – and when not to annoy each other. I think you’ll see on this season you’ve got two best friends working together,’ he said.
‘And we have a laugh. Man, we’ve had so much fun this series and I think that’s what’s going to show.’
It comes after Colin recently revealed his secret crush on one of the show’s other judges.
The Irish chef said he always fancied British culinary goddess, Nigella Lawson and she returned for the finale of the show.
When asked by 7Life what his highlight of the series was, Colin said: ‘Well, Nigella Lawson has always been a crush of mine.’
Speaking about their first meeting, he recalled: ‘When I met her this year, I was just standing there looking at her, and Frenchie (Manu) stopped the filming because he said I had my mouth open like a schoolboy. All the crew were like, “Awww, you’re going red!”‘
Colin said he has always admired Nigella’s presence on TV and her ability to make fabulous home cooked meals, despite not being a trained chef.
He added he was nervous to meet her because she has always been a hero of his, but was ‘so personable and nice’ and lived up to his expectations.
The new season of My Kitchen Rules will premiere on Channel 7 on September 4 at 7.30pm.
