Comedian Celeste Barber reveals desperate celebrities contact her begging to be parodied

Celeste Barber has become a global superstar thanks to her hilarious celebrity parody videos and photos.

The comedian, 38, has attracted 7.7 million Instagram followers – and that’s made her more famous than some of the people she pokes fun at.

Appearing on The Project on Tuesday evening, Celeste revealed that desperate influencers and celebrities often contact her, begging to be parodied.

‘Yep. Heaps,’ she answered when asked if she’s approached to feature certain people on her Instagram.

‘I also get people going, “Have you seen seen so and so? You need to parody her. She needs the followers.” It’s full on,’ Celeste admitted.

However, the Australian media personality has made friends with some big names, too.

Celeste added: ‘I have a point to prove, especially to people that were mean to me at school – I’m friends with Drew Barrymore! It’s always a bad vendetta behind it. But it’s fun and nice and fancy.’

Recently on Jameela Jamil’s iWeigh podcast, Celeste said that some very big names enjoy her posts and sometimes even submit them to be parodied.

Celeste however also admits some celebrities have blocked her because they find her Instagram parodies ‘mean’.

‘When people are like “do you feel mean or anything?” I’m like “no”. I only use photos they post, if it’s a paparazzi photo I won’t use it, unless they have,’ she added.
