Cox is portraying Wagner, who is the academic adviser for East Mississippi Community College, which has gained a reputation for its strong athletic program.

The school earned the nickname Last Chance U, for giving athletes their last shot at making it to the pros through their program.

Last Chance U has aired for three seasons on Netflix, the first two of which were focused on East Mississippi Community College, though the third transitioned to Independence Community College in Kansas.
