Shoppers have gone wild for a British-designed dress which has a hidden corset to create the ‘ultimate snatched waist’ – with fans saying it gives Kim Kardashian‘s shapewear a run for its money.

The £89 Taylor Tea Dress by AYM has gone viral on TikTok after its creator posed in the simple plunging dress which has a clever tie design to cinch it.

Alie Mackintosh, from Lewes, East Sussex, who founded the brand and designed the garments, posted a tutorial showing how this ‘secret weapon’ could help to create an ‘hourglass silhouette’.

‘I wanted to create the most flattering dress. So I made this AYM one. The lace-up ‘corset’ waist snatches,’ she captioned a clip of her trying it on.

AYM has a 4.5 star rating on Trust Pilot, compared to Skims – Kim Kardashian‘s shapewear brand, which sells dresses at a similar price point – which has 3.5 stars, with some commenting they were ‘disappointed’ by the quality of Skims’ material

The figure-hugging dresses, which are priced at £89, range from sizes XXS to 3XL, making it flattering on a huge range of body types.

The dress does not look fastened from the front, but loops at the back help to pull it in and fasten it so it fits snuggly on the waist allowing the flowing material to fall beautifully.

The dress also comes in a range of colours, including wine red, chocolate brown ivory white and a classic black.

Other styles, including shorter dresses and maxi dresses, also feature the corset-like paneling.

Now fans are lining up to buy the design, with comments like ‘take my money’ and ‘I’ve never ordered a dress so fast’ flooding her posts.

Fans watching the video, which has almost 100,000 likes, expressed how impressed they were with the inclusivity of the dress’s sizing.

‘I need this immediately!’ one viewer commented on Mackintosh’s TikTok.

One person welcomed the range saying ‘finally a brand that doesn’t change the dress for plus size’.

The corset-style dress left other TikTok users amazed that they did not have to wear shapewear to achieve a fitted and flattering look.

There has been a surge in its popularity on social media, with transformational try-on videos of it racking up hundreds of thousands of likes and influencers like Tammy Hembrow donning the popular garment.

But buyers are having to wait four to five weeks to get their hands on the dresses, which can only be pre-ordered, with AYM’s CEO Allie saying online this allows them ‘to manage supply and avoid waste.’
