Their outing comes after Eamon temporarily stepped down from his role as the co-presenter of GB News while after receiving hospital treatment due to his painful back condition.

The news anchor, has suffered from long-term difficulties, previously telling of his battle with chronic back pain after a dislocated pelvis led to three slipped discs.

Former Sky News host Eamonn left GB News viewers wondering where he was this week when he wasn’t on-screen, with the journalist taking to Twitter earlier this month to clear things up, writing: ‘Many of you have been asking why I haven’t been presenting GB News for the past week.

‘Unfortunately, due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I’ve had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor’s orders by taking a short time off.

‘However I’m looking forward to being back alongside Isabel, my Breakfast co-presenter and friend, next week.

‘Even though I only joined GB News six months ago the whole team and our amazing audience have shown me immense support which has been greatly appreciated.

‘I now just need some time with my family to heal and recuperate.’

Eamonn sees a physiotherapist every day, does exercises and also visits a masseuse.  In March, he was seen using a walking stick at an event at Bafta’s headquarters in London.

He recently revealed that using swear words helps him to deal with the agony.

Writing in Best magazine, Holmes said: ‘Swearing has got a bad reputation – which I personally think it doesn’t deserve.

‘I have to be honest, I like a swear or two or three… it makes me feel better. How can anyone deal with pain without swearing?’

He explained: ‘I have had a lot of pain over the past five or six years, so my swear box runneth over. I’m not saying it’s better than a couple of painkilling tablets, but it certainly has an initial short, sharp effect.’

He acknowledged: ‘I accept listening to someone swear isn’t always the most wonderful experience, especially when it is in front of children… but it doesn’t half feel good when those curse words fly!’

Eamonn also pointed to scientific studies to back up his use of swearing and claimed it can help people cope with frustrating situations.

He added: ‘Studies say swearing can have a truly liberating effect when we’re feeling bottled up with frustration.

‘Saying the F-word, or similar, can have an immediate calming impact. Pain is a good example.’
