EastEnders’ fans predict twist for Patsy Kensit’s return as ‘bad girl’ Emma blackmails cheating Phil Mitchell after their one-night stand
Emma Harding, who is Lola Pearce’s mum, has been hailed a ‘bad girl’ with her new leather jacket after embarking on a passionate one night stand with Phil Mitchell.
On Wednesday’s show, Kat Slater confronted Phil (Steve McFadden) about where he had been – and the affair is secret, for now.
However, many viewers have taken to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their theories on whatcould happen in Albert Square while Emma is in town.
Fans think her granddaughter Lexi will be kidnapped by her grandmother, after Lexi’s father Ben Mitchell told his mother-in-law: ‘We aren’t going to have anymore visits not now, not ever.’
Patsy later blackmailed Phil as she told him she would expose their dalliance to Kat (Jessie Wallace) if he didn’t help her with seeing her granddaughter.
One viewer wrote: ‘I sense a kidnapping happening with creepy Emma,’ and ‘since we know Emma is only back for a week, I’m guessing she’s talking bs to Lexi about not leaving again.’
Another wrote: ‘Patsy Kensit in her element playing Emma as a bad girl – leather jacket and all.’
‘Obsessed with Patsy Kensit coming back and Emma being given a new leather jacket to prove she means business.’
A different fan wrote: ‘Emma looking like the cat that got the cream after her night with Phil That strut through the square was so camp.’
‘Loving Patsy Kensit in EastEnders,’ another wrote.
Patsy returned last month briefly for Lola’s emotional funeral and made quite the impression on BBC bosses.
Soap sources recently revealed she is a ‘big hit’ with the rest of the cast.
An insider told The Mirror: ‘Patsy has been back in Albert Square filming on multiple occasions this month – so it seems fans have not seen the last of Emma.
‘Patsy has really impressed the bosses, and is a big hit with the rest of the cast. She loves the show too, so she was thrilled to be asked to return as Emma.
‘She, like audiences, had thought her cameo appearance at Lola’s funeral was her last on the Square.’
Lola, played by Danielle Harold, was at the centre of one of the BBC soap’s most emotional storylines after she developed a brain tumour.
Lola’s mum Emma, who abandoned her when she was just three, arrived in Walford after Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) hunted her down.
But their family reunion was short-lived after Lola’s husband Jay (Jamie Borthwick) told Emma to either stick around for good or leave and soon after she left.
At the British Soap Awards, actress Danielle picked up the Best Leading Performer for Lola’s cancer storyline, while EastEnders won the gong for Best British Soap.
Mum-of-two Patsy said she had an ‘awesome experience’ while appearing on EastEnders.
She gushed on social media: ‘Cannot thank my amazing cast members [enough] for being so kind and loving to me.
‘Big thank you to the BBC, the producers, writers, crew and the EastEnders family…Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my a**e off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton … so so many people.’
