EastEnders star Tony Discipline has ditched acting for two VERY different jobs – 10 years after starring as Tyler Moon on the soap
He was best known for this role as the cheeky chappy Tyler Moon.
But EastEnders star Tony Discipline has stepped away from the world of acting to take on two wildly different career paths.
The actor, 34, played Tyler Moon in Walford from 2011 to 2013, but in recent years has opened up a caravan bar and taken it across the country.
And while Tony openly promotes his mobile bar on social media, he also works as a fireman in London to support his family.
Tony’s bar serves booze and cocktails to punters at events, with him aptly naming it The Tipsy Trailer.
He launched the mobile bar last year, serving drinks to celebrants at a street party during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Images posted on Tony’s Instagram showing him pouring drinks at an awards event, a festival and a golf club.
He also wrote on Instagram last month: ‘Dates are filling up for this year now. If you are interested and would like to book @thetipsytrailerbaruk for your event please drop me a message.’
Tony has also been working as a firefighter, and has posted several snaps in his protective suits on social media.
His posts sparked a delighted response from Tony’s followers, with one writing: ‘Hot fireman alert.’
Another added: ‘Looking good and you look happy Tony hope you are all well x’
Tony played Tyler on EastEnders for two years, after arriving in Walford as the son of Eddie Moon, and immediately made a splash thanks to his dashing looks and ‘short fuse.’
He was embroiled in an on/off romance with Whitney Dean, but proceeds to cheat on her with Lucy Beale.
When his half brother Michael pushes him to do an unlicensed fight, Tyler agrees, unbeknown to Tyler that Michael is fixing the fight, putting a boxer in the ring who once killed a man.
Tyler wins the fight, though he suffers a seizure, forcing him to undergo life saving operations.
With Michael’s help, Tyler cones Danny Pennant out of his sports car, and flees the Square with his brother Anthony to work on a cruise ship.
In 2021, Tony revealed how he had a complete change of career and is now a firefighter for the London Fire Brigade.
His heroic job has seen him tackle a fire in a block of flats, at a bakery and a waste disposal plant in the past, and has said that there had been occasions where he had been spotted by fans while on the job.
He told The Sun: ‘I was once walking back to the fire truck and someone walked past and said, ‘Oh my god what are you filming?’ I said, ‘No, I’m a firefighter’ and he said: ‘No, what is it? What show’s it for?’.
‘Another time a guy’s shed was alight, I was trying to put it out and mid-job he suddenly went: ‘Weren’t you in EastEnders, mate?’.
Tony, who was working at Billingsgate Fish Market when he landed the part of Alfie Moon’s cousin, joked: ‘I always knew the attention was because of the show, when I was down the fish market I wasn’t getting that attention.’
The actor applied for the job in 2019 and said the idea of becoming a firefighter appealed to him because he could help the community and be part of something he was ‘proud of’, but said it is ‘quite dangerous’.
