Styled with a dazzling red, blue and and white flame pattern on the cuffs and lapels, Elton looked every bit the rock veteran in the outrageous outfit.

He paired the suit with a white shirt and accessorised with an oversized silver pendant that he wore on a thick chain.

The Your Song hitmaker completed his look with a pair of flashy glasses, which were tinted red and styled with rhinestone rims.

At one point in the set, Elton stood up from his piano to give the massive audience a better look at his outfit.

With arms outstretched, the pop superstar smiled and laughed as he lapped up the applause.

Meanwhile, Sir Elton is set to make a pretty penny off the tour.

His Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which kicked off in Newcastle last Sunday night, is offering a ‘VIP’ experience package to keen fans for a whopping $1,749.

Billed as the ‘ultimate Elton John experience’, the VIP package gets buyers a deluxe seat, drinks and canapés and a photo opportunity with Elton’s iconic Yamaha grand piano – but not the singer himself.

Fans can also pay $1499 for another VIP package that includes a seat in the first ten rows and a photo with Elton’s piano.

Elton won’t be posing for photos with these ticket-holders either.

Luckily for those less cashed-up fans, normal tickets to his shows are also available for a comparatively bargain price of $250.

Elton will next play in Melbourne on the January 14, before heading to Sydney to play gigs on January 18 and 19 before heading to Brisbane for his final show on January 21.

Elton’s upcoming shows come 51 years after after he first performed in Australia at Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse in October 1971.
