The star’s post was quickly flooded with support branding her ‘gorgeous’ and ‘absolute perfection’.

It comes after the media personality said she was ‘proud to be neurodivergent’ and now had a better understanding of her past behaviour in an episode of Emsolation podcast last month.

Reintroducing herself to her listeners, the 43-year-old said: ‘My name is Em Rusciano, I’m a writer, a singer, a stand-up comedian, a podcaster, a maximalist power queen.’

She then added: ‘I am also an autistic person and I have ADHD!’

Em explained she’d just received her official diagnosis for autism, having previously self-diagnosed herself with the condition.

While she was unsure whether or not she wanted an official diagnosis from a doctor, she ultimately decided that it was in her best interest to do so.

‘I think with my brain especially, I need rules and if someone who is smarter than me and better than me at this topic assesses me for many hours and says, “Yes, you are autistic,” then I have to accept that.’

Em said now she had a diagnosis, she had to start ‘making allowances’ for herself and her past behaviour.

‘I have to stop using really negative language and negative stories that I’ve built around certain behaviours that I thought were because I have faults and I’m a s**t person, where in fact I’m an autistic person,’ she explained.

‘And even saying that out loud makes me emotional and I’m really proud to be neurodivergent but I think again it’s that grief of forensically going back over all those times that my autism has made things quite hard, not just for myself but for other people.

‘And I genuinely couldn’t help it, but I’ve carried a lot of guilt since, so that’s why the diagnosis was important for me.’
