Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron showcase their passion for tennis while cheering from the stands at star-studded US Open in New York
The semifinal matches of the men’s singles at the US Open, featuring the top three seeds, determined who will move on to play for the 2023 championship.
First up, number two tournament seed Novak Djokovic battled unseeded Ben Shelton at Arthur Ashe Stadium
And later in the evening, number three seed Daniil Medvedev faced off against the tournament and world’s number one seed Carlos Alcaraz.
And as usual there was no shortage of celebrities and high-profile people in the stands cheering on all the high-flying action on the court, which included actresses Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron.
Blunt, 40, who had previously revealed she was taking a year off from acting to spend more quality time with her kids, got to make good use of that decision at the US Open with husband John Kasinski and their daughters Hazel, nine, and Violet, seven.

Blunt, 40, appeared to be riveted by all the drama playing out on the court while sitting next to her two girls.
She looked stylish, while showcasing her fab figure, in a black floral dress with touches of light blue, purple and orange, that hugged her curves .
At times she could be seen yelling out towards the court, and then there were other times were she directed her attention to her girls, who were sitting in between their parents.
Although not as animated as his wife, Krasinski, 43, was still equally engaged in the match and their children.
In fact, on more than one occasion he had their youngest, Violet, sit on his lap and proceed to have an in-depth conversation.
Dressed in a dark blue Polo-style shirt, the actor and director was also seen cheering on the players on the court, much like his vocal wife.
While their kids looked to be having fun at the match, it was apparent whether they were more interest in the drinks and snacks or the match itself.
A couple of months ago, Blunt shared about how she was inspired to take 2023 off when she realized Hazel would be turning 10.
‘This year, I’m not working,’ the British actress revealed during an appearance on the Table for Two podcast in July. ‘I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits. And I just feel [like] there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little.’

Theron, 48, has a couple of young daughters of her own Jackson, 11, and August, seven, who she adopted in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
But on this day, it appears she left the kids with sitters, which gave her some personal time to get out and enjoy all the action on the court and in the stands.
The Oscar-winning actress is a huge tennis fan and has been to many tournaments around the world throughout the years.
‘I love tennis,’ the South African native has said, before confessing, ‘But I’m a horrible player.’
On this day, Theron kept it casual in the fashion department in a white shirt with her blonde locks pulled back into a ponytail.
The Monster star was sitting one row in front of Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira, who looked summer ready in a blue and white-patterned dress and her raven tresses styled in long thin braids that fell down past her shoulders.
The US Open always draws a star-studded crowd, and Day 12 of this year’s tournament was no different.

Julianna Margulies, Tom Brady, Ben Stiller, Rami Malek, Jon Bon Jovi and wife Dorothea Hurley, Savannah Guthrie, Jane Seymour, Anna Wintour, and Chris Fischer and Amy Schumer were among the long list of celebrities to watch the two matches up close and personal, according to the US Open’s publication.
The VIP list also included Clive Davis, Michael Feldman, Chloe Kim, Henrik Lundqvist, Noah Beck, D-Nice and Izabel Goulart, among others.
In the end, Djokovic defeated Shelton in straight sets: 6-3, 6-2, 7-6, while Medvedev would need a fourth set to rake down the US Open’s reigning champion 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 .
The Djokovic vs. Medvedev men’s singles final that will determine a new champion is scheduled for Sunday, September 10; although the official start time is still to be determined.
