Eva Longoria Bastón, Elle Macpherson, and Alexa Chung glammed up to be honored as women of the year by Harper’s Bazaar Spain during the third annual ceremony held at Cine Callao in Madrid on Wednesday.
Eva looked leggy in a €4,340 red Zuhair Murad ‘Georgette Long Dress’ and she gave a boost to her petite 5ft2in figure with black platform heels selected by stylist Maeve Reilly.
The 48-year-old ninth-generation Texan – who relies on longtime hairstylist Ken Paves – wore her raven locks in a sleek updo for the fashion festivities.
Longoria’s complexion was fully contoured and she had defined brows, kohl-rimmed eyes, and a glossy pout.
Now that the SAG/AFTRA strike is over, the Golden Globe nominee can get back to executive producing and starring in Apple TV+’s six-episode dramedy Land of Women, which is based on Sandra Barneda’s 2014 novel.
Eva takes on the role of Gala, who is forced to flee her New York home with her mother and teenage daughter to Northern Spain after her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties
Ramón Campos and and Gema R. Neira’s series – which will film in both English and Spanish – also features Santiago Cabrera, Gloria Muñoz, Amaury Nolasco, and Victoria Bazua.
Longoria will also play travel writer and married mother-of-two Val Garcia in Marvin Lemus’ road trip remake of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day – which will eventually stream on Disney+.
The Mexican-American adaptation of Judith Viorst’s 1972 children’s book also stars Thom Nemer, Cheech Marin, Cristo Fernández, Harvey Guillén, Jesse Garcia, Paulina Chávez, and Rose Portillo.
Elle – who was coined ‘The Body’ by TIME back in 1989 – completely covered up her famous 5ft11in figure in a black Dior cape over a matching chiffon gown and peep-toe heels.
The Australian 59-year-old was awarded on Wednesday with the Beauty Entrepreneur of the year trophy for the elixir company Welle Co. she founded back in 2014.
‘To everybody here tonight, this is such an honor. I’m very nervous…I’m just so grateful to be here,’ Macpherson (born Eleanor Gow) said at the podium.
‘And this is such a wonderful, powerful opportunity working with Harper’s Bazaar Spain to remind everyone of their innate real beauty an uniqueness. It’s your gift to the world. Nurturing the emergence of unique beauty through wellness has been, for me, the joy of a lifetime. So I appreciate this recognition.’
The former SI Swimsuit stunner applied a smoky eye, pink cheeks, and a glossy pout to her face and she wore her signature highlighted locks down.
Elle was joined on the red carpet by boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II, who previously dated Oscar winner Renée Zellweger in the mid-2010s.
Alexa – whose titular fashion label shuttered last year – struck an awkward pose in an incredibly ill-fitted grey Prada blazer, fastened with a black belt, and patent leather men’s dress shoes.
The British 40-year-old had hairstylist Iván Gómez curl her shoulder-length brunette locks and make-up artist Sandra Marcos brought out her brows, cheekbones, and mauve pout.
‘There are so many icons in this room,’ Chung marveled at the podium.
‘It’s really fantastic. I get very nervous with public speaking, which is weird because I’m a TV presenter. It’s so amazing to be here. [Receiving] a fashion icon award is particularly brilliant.’
Indeed, the part-Chinese socialite’s last presenting gig was on Netflix’s Next in Fashion where she was famously replaced in 2021 by IMG Model Gigi Hadid as co-host.
Pedro Almodóvar muse Rossy de Palma – who received the Humanitarian Muse Award – made a dramatic entrance in a black-and-white trumpet gown.
New York-born actress-model Marisa Berenson – best known for her roles in Cabaret and Barry Lyndon – wore a black long-sleeve studded dress to be honored at the event.
Musicians La La Love You and Pol Granch were among the performers at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year gala.
