- President saw a ‘sanitized’ version of the border crisis, she told DailyMail.com
- Armendariz-Jackson and her husband are in touch with several agents
- They are ‘counting the days to their retirement’ after receiving no reassurance from Biden’s few-hour trip to the border on his way to Mexico
The wife of a retired border agent and leader of a border group slammed whoever tasked guards with cleaning up trash and moving along migrants from the streets of El Paso before Joe Biden‘s visit over the weekend.
Irene Armendariz-Jackson told DailyMail.com that Biden did not have an ‘aha moment’ during his Sunday visit because he saw a ‘sanitized’ version of the border.
She also claimed that the president wouldn’t have realized the full extent of the crisis even if he witnessed the continuous flow over the border and saw migrants in the streets.
Morale among border agents is still at an all time low – and didn’t change after Biden’s visit, she said.
Biden took his first-ever trip as president to the southern border on Sunday. He surveyed the border and spoke with officials in El Paso, Texas.

The same area was cleared-out was Border Patrol agents were tasked with cleaning up trash before Biden’s visit. Armendariz-Jackson said the ‘sanitization’ didn’t allow Biden to see the full extent of the crisis in border communities
The visit came just three days after Biden announced new plans regarding migration and was just a few-hour stop on his way to the North American Leaders Summit in Mexico City, Mexico this week.
Armendariz-Jackson, president of the Border Security Coalition, said she and her retired border agent husband Bill are in contact with a lot of officials and agents with Border Patrol. She said they are hearing that the agents weren’t reassured by Biden’s trip.
‘They did not expect any miracle,’ Armendariz-Jackson said. ‘They didn’t expect an ‘aha moment’ where Biden says, ‘I repent of all of my sins on the border.’ They did not – they knew it was a photo op.’
‘Morale is still the same, you know. People are just counting the days to their retirement,’ she explained.
El Paso’s Mayor Oscar Leeser, a Democrat, ‘sold out’ the city so he could ‘feel important’ by going on a ‘ride along’ with the president at the border, Armendariz-Jackson alleged.
She claimed it was wrong to clean up El Paso before the visit because it didn’t give an accurate depiction of the crisis. However, she also claimed that Biden should not need to see the issues first-hand to realize actions need to be taken to fix the overflow.
‘Is his dementia really that advanced that he hasn’t seen the videos that everybody’s posting about the conditions of the border crisis here in El Paso? I mean, is that a reality?’ Armendariz-Jackson questioned.
‘Did we need him to come and set foot in them [border facilities] to not know what is really what he has caused?’ she added. ‘I don’t think so.’

Armendariz-Jackson, whose parents are legal immigrants, said she’s on a mission to find out who gave the orders to clean up El Paso before Biden’s trip, claiming that Border Patrol agents as well as First and Police department officials in the city were tasked with the ‘sanitization’ efforts.
Before and after images show piles of trash and clothing, as well as swaths of illegal immigrants and asylum-seekers camping out on the streets, that were moved along. Armendariz-Jackson said they are unsure where the migrants went, but suggested they could be in hotels contracted by the government like what happened in 2019.
‘First of all, they sanitized the city,’ Armendariz-Jackson lamented during an interview with DailyMail.com. ‘And I want to find out who gave the order to clean up El Paso.’
She said the perception Biden got from El Paso due to it being ‘sanitized’ just ‘affirms’ the president’s incorrect claims that ‘the border is closed’ and ‘that there is no crisis.’
‘Tragically, the mayor of El Paso, who is one of the wealthiest people here in El Paso, but he is a staunch Democrat, he – I guess the price to sell the community out was to be able to ride along with Biden,’ she said.

‘And that made him feel important enough that somehow he was okay with the cleanup efforts.’
The Border Security Coalition is a group with the main goal of solving the crisis at the southern border through ‘quantifiable metrics’ – like decreasing illegal crossings and securing the legal ports of entry.
Armendariz-Jackson says there is nothing wrong with U.S. immigration and migration laws, but explained that the issue lies in the incorrect or lack-off enforcement of these statutes.
Biden announced in a Thursday speech from the White House, much to the dismay of Democrats, that he would extend the Trump-era expulsion policy known as Title 42, which allows for instant deportation of asylum-seekers during a public health emergency.
He did also announce a separate program that would allow 30,000 migrants every month to fly or enter the U.S. through a port of entry if they apply ahead of time for asylum on a smartphone application.
