EXCLUSIVE Ferne McCann gushes about ‘calm and kind’ new boyfriend Jack Padgett

Ferne McCann says living with her new boyfriend Jack Padgett during lockdown is a ‘learning’ process.

The reality star, 30, went public with the model in late December after first meeting five years ago, and she admitted moving in together so quickly has ‘fast-forwarded’ her romance with her ‘calm and kind’ beau.

Speaking in an interview with MailOnline, the mother-of-one explained while she initially found the prospect of letting a new man into her life ‘daunting’, she is confident she has found the ‘right person’ in longtime friend Jack.

Discussing her new Get Your Groove Back plan on her fitness app, Embodyment With Ferne, she told MailOnline: ‘You have to want to work at it. You can’t just be with someone and that’s it, you have to want to be with each other and co-exist.

‘It’s about learning to want to be together and I’m loving it, he’s so calm and kind and measured, but also fun.

‘I feel very happy and lucky really. It’s a new experience being with someone in a relationship which I actually want to work on.’

Ferne added: ‘Dating right now is completely different and has changed so much for everyone so you’ve got to be creative.

‘I think it’s all fast-forwarded, that’s why we decided to quarantine together and do this lockdown together, and it’s going well so far.’

The couple first met five years ago while partying in the Spanish holiday hotspot of Marbella and stayed friends, before reuniting on a romantic basis in late 2020.

Ferne told MailOnline: ‘It makes me laugh when people ask, “Where did you meet?” and I say “Marbella”. It sounds like such a typical Essex thing, even though he’s not from Essex.

‘With social media, we’ve always kept in touch and followed each other on Instagram.

‘He does events,  so we went to a brunch during the time when restaurants were allowed to be open in the UK last year.

‘I was telling my friends I really wanted to go out for food and then Jack was doing an event, and the rest is history.

‘I feel like it was timing, I’ve known him ages but I feel like it was just our time.’

Jack joined Ferne and her daughter Sunday, three, on a business trip to South Africa over Christmas, and they decided to quarantine together when they returned to Britain.

Speaking of how Sunday has adapted to the changes in their household, Ferne said: ‘It’s completely different for her.

‘Not only does Jack live here, my friend Carl lives here with his dog, Carter the Chow Chow.

‘It’s a full house and we have a lot of fun, she loves having the dog here and the extra company.’

Ferne recently admitted that she finds it ‘scary trusting someone to see your body,’ as she told her Instagram followers that she ‘fell out of love’ with her breasts after she had her daughter three years ago.

The former TOWIE star confirmed it can be nerve-racking being intimate with someone, as she said: ‘It can be a really daunting, exposing experience to be naked in front of someone, to literally take your clothes off.

‘If you’re not confident and you don’t feel good about yourself you’re not going to be like, “Woo here I am.”

‘I think you can make yourself feel confident by working out, by working on self-love and by being with the right person.’

Ferne said exercising and eating nutritious food has made her feel better about herself, which is what inspired her new Get Your Groove Back plan on her fitness app.

The new programme aims to empower women and promote sexual well-being through a range of workouts and online discussions.

Pelvic floor exercises, stamina-building X-Fight workouts and express 12-minute routines allow women to optimise their health while promoting self-confidence, from the comfort of their own home.

Ferne said her body changed significantly after giving birth, but said she has learnt to appreciate it.

She added: ‘I had a newfound respect for my body, and how much it can change. My body changed so much in such a short period of time, my boobs breastfeeding are different compared to now, three years down the line.

‘But I respect my body now and I try to be kind to it because it grew the best thing that happened to me, my daughter.’
