A young entrepreneur has died in a horrific car accident, while the driver and another escaped with only minor injuries.

Savannah Simon-Maxwell was killed after the white sedan she was a passenger in lost control and careered into trees on Jones Road in Somerville on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old died at the scene, while the 25-year-old male driver and a 19-year-old male passenger were barely hurt.

Tributes to Ms Simon-Maxwell have flowed on social media, with the budding eyelash business owner remembered as a ‘beautiful’ girl and great friend.

Ayza Phodi took to Facebook to pay her respects to her ‘best friend’.

‘I’m actually lost for words, waking up and reading messages saying you’re gone, I never thought this day would come so soon,’ Ms Phodi posted.

‘F**k I’m going to miss you. I’ve always got you in my heart homie. Rest easy up there and I’ll see you when I see you.’

Brittany Phodi also penned a heartfelt lament to Ms Simon-Maxwell.

‘My heart is aching so much today. I can still hear your voice, your laugh, your smile, the personality that stood out in the crowds,’ she posted.

‘Regardless of us being on bad terms you still always showed so much of your love to me, your heart of gold that no one could compare to.

‘You really did live up to our tattoos, the tattoo I will hold deeply close to my heart.

‘My poor girl, my beautiful best friend my everything fly high with the angels and sleep peacefully.’ 

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Ms Simon-Maxwell’s family to help pay for funeral costs. More than $2,200 has been raised. 

Detectives from Victoria Police’s major collision investigation unit spent the day analysing the crash site after the fatal incident on Saturday.

The circumstances around the crash are still being investigated. 

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage has been urged to come forward to police.
