Family devastated as two brothers are allegedly stabbed to death in Melbourne just six months apart

A family has been devastated by the stabbing deaths of two brothers in Melbourne just six months apart.

Kon Kot, 24, was allegedly stabbed to death during a fight outside a Hungry Jacks outlet in Caroline Springs, to the city’s west, at about 9.10pm on Monday. 

The death is a heavy blow for his family, who were already mourning the loss of Mr Kot’s brother Machar.

Machar Kot, 21, died after he was allegedly stabbed outside a hotel on Market Street in the CBD in June. 

On Monday, three women were seen in hysterics after they arrived at the scene where Mr Kot took his last breaths, Nine News reported.

The 24-year-old visited the fast food franchise after receiving a phone call from his 15-year-old brother who was allegedly being threatened.

When Mr Kot arrived at the Hungry Jacks outlet, his teenage brother was allegedly being intimated with a knife.

Mr Kot was allegedly fatally stabbed after a fight ensued. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. 

Another 24-year-old, from Caroline Springs, was arrested nearby and charged with murder on Tuesday morning.

Police allege the men knew each other.
