‘Fat but fit’ is healthier than dieting, say scientists – The Times

You can be “fat but fit” and for a longer life people should concentrate on exercise rather than dieting, experts have said.

Researchers said that healthy bodies came in all “shapes and sizes” and that adopting a “weight-neutral” approach to the treatment of health issues caused by obesity would also curb the health risks associated with on-and-off dieting.

They added that numerous studies had shown how people around the world had been trying to lose weight over the past 40 years, and yet obesity continued to rise.
