Hosted by Beau Ryan and Liz Ellis, the extreme sports contest is a reboot of the classic 90s cult reality series where contestants battle in a stylised arena.
And a new preview teases fans that they can look forward to ‘superhero’ action.
The show’s contestants can be seen wearing figure-hugging costumes, and flying through the air.
In one scene in the trailer former NRL star Sandor Earl can be seen hurling a digitally animated ‘lightning bolt’.
Another scene features Hollywood stuntwoman Chanique Greyling in a white, barely-there two-piece outfit, wearing a giant set of wings and floating in space.
Meanwhile, cast member Harriet Roberts can be seen jogging against the cityscape of a futuristic metropolis.
At another point in the trailer, the cast are introduced alongside their ‘gladiator’ names, including powerlifting champion Jaymii Morris (Chaos), and Ironman and male model Jett Kenny (Viking).
Other cast members featured in the trailer include bodybuilder and former Ninja Warrior Kwame Duah.
F45 trainer Blessings Chilufya is also joining the cast alongside fitness guru Damien Rider, CrossFit champions Alethea Boon, Khan Porter, and Katelin van Zyl.
Tatyanna Dumas, who is Australia’s youngest Ninja Warrior, rounds out the cast.
The Gladiators and contender’s skills will be tested with obstacles including Hang Tough, Duel, The Wall, Power Ball, Pyramid and The Eliminator.
It will be the ultimate test of speed, strength, stamina, agility and power.
The high-octane show, made popular in 1995 and 1996, found its home on Ten.
In addition to the Australian show, the BBC is also planning a reboot for UK fans of the competitive series.
The show did get a reboot in 2008, which was hosted by Tom Williams and Zoe Naylor, but failed to find a steady audience.
The show was filmed at The Dome at Sydney Showground with challengers competing for $50,000 and a Subaru Forester.
Gladiators is set to premiere on Channel 10 and 10Play on Sunday, January 7
