New York Fashion Week has come to a close and with that next season’s trends are already being determined.
But for attendees, the excitement extends beyond the week-long series of shows.
Daily Mail rounds up five standout moments worth noting, including the designer with the best musical guest, the label with the most attractive audience and the designers to make triumphant returns to the runway.
Most exciting return:
It was a Crosby Street takeover for celeb-beloved luxury brand LAPOINTE – just before the rain!
Sally LaPointe delivered a jaw-dropping spring collection for her eponymous label’s return to the runway outside on the corner of Crosby and Howard.
‘I was in a bodega one night after dinner – this was when the mega millions were at a record high – and I was staring at the lottery tickets fantasizing about what I would do if I won. So, this inspired my collection,’ said Sally.
‘I was imagining what I would want to wear and what my vibe would be if I won the lottery.’
In true LAPOINTE fashion, models stormed the cobblestone catwalk in color-driven, luxe, monochromatic, head-to-toe styles.
Sally’s signature feathers embellished several pieces while metallic silver fabrics and sheer chiffons made for show stopping pieces.
And just as the last model walked off the catwalk, raindrops fell from the sky. Sally, you won the lottery!
After four years, 3.1 Phillip Lim triumphantly made their return to New York Fashion Week to showcase their spring 24 collection – an ode to New York City.
The show notes read: ‘As we have journeyed through this process of becoming ourselves and establishing our version of the New York uniform, our brand has developed to champion a more holistic representation of beauty.
‘Just as New York itself combines diverse stimuli and cultures, so too do we aim to harmonize and celebrate the beauty that resides in every corner of our society in all walks of life on our beautiful earth.’
Lim was supported by many notable attendees including Awkwafina, Jenna Dewan, Stephanie Hsu, Kimora Lee Simmons, Teyana Taylor, Nicky Hilton, The Kid LAROI and Prabal Gurung, to name a few.
And he got a standing ovation.
Best dressed guests:
PatBO’s Creative Director Patricia Bonaldi presented Tropicalia, a modern interpretation of the vibrant spirit of the 1970’s Brazil, during New York Fashion Week.
The collection fused tropical-inspired opulence with rock-and-roll, while celebrating the designer’s hand-crafted couture roots and showcasing the perfected skill of her Brazilian artisans.
And while the runway – located in the stunning hallway at 11 Madison Park – was a parade of party looks, so too was the crowd.
An impressive amount of front row attendees, including Rocky Barnes, Lexi Wood, Elsa Hosk were dressed to impress in the finest PatBO attire.
Hottest performer :
Christian Siriano is known for his many surprises, but this season the young trailblazer outdid himself to celebrate the brand’s 15 year anniversary.
In honor of the impressive milestone Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sia took the stage for a heartfelt performance of several of her hits during the finale walk of the show.
The Australian artist donned a pink Siriano ballgown boasting layers of fluffy tulle and a coordinating crimped wig accessorized with a large bow.
Enjoying the performance from the front row was music superstar Janet Jackson.
The living legend donned a monochromatic Siriano look consisting of a brown vinyl dress topped by a matching trench coat.
Her hair was pulled back and styled in a long braid, showing off her beautiful face a large hoop earrings.
Avril Lavigne, Tinashe, Lil TJAY, Hari Nef and Lourdes Leon are just a few of the VIP guests to join Dion Lee at BOOM on Saturday night.
Partygoers also included Ismael Cruz Cordova, Rachel Sennott, Moses Sumney, Amandla Stenberg, Shaun Ross, Talia Ryder, Eartheater, Yves Tumor.
The opulent penthouse lounge atop The Standard, High Line with expansive views was the perfect backdrop to celebrate the label’s spring/summer 24 collection.
Guests enjoyed a surprise two song set performance by Ice Spice atop the room’s iconic gold bar, while sipping on signature Yola cocktails in theme with the performance, including an ‘Ice Spicy Margarita,’ and custom ‘Ice Spice’ cubes.
DJs VTSS, Schacke and BEARCAT spun into the morning.
The high-energy evening was a Fashion Week highlight for The Standard, High Line – the downtown epicenter for New York Fashion Week.
Most statement-making show
Elena Velez is an American fashion designer, artist and feminist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She’s best known for her non traditional and non conventional high fashion.
Models walked a dirt runway in her latest offerings covered in mud before falling to their knees and brawling it out during the traditional finale march.
According to the show notes, it was ‘ a celebration and exorcism of contemporary feminine influence.’
