A furious mother was forced to stuff her child into the luggage rack of a packed train despite paying £180 for the tickets. 

Bee Rowaltt, 51, and her four children were travelling from York to London King’s Cross but no seats were available to them when they got on the full train.

Ms Rowaltt exposed Grand Central Rail on Twitter when she posted a photograph of her child sitting in a fully loaded suitcase rack. 

She captioned the photo: ‘York to KX on @GC_Rail – no seats anywhere, floors and corridors completely blocked and one of my kids in a luggage rack.’

She added: ‘This trip cost £182.94.’

In the photograph taken by Ms Rowaltt, several passengers can be seen in the background sitting on the floor and stuffed in around luggage. 

Responding to Ms Rowaltt’s tweet, Grand Central Rail tweeted: ‘Apologies for the discomfort. ^LA.’ 

Ms Rowaltt replied: ”Apologies for the discomfort La’ is not what I was hoping for to be honest.’

Meanwhile, other social media users commented on the mother’s post to share their outrage.

According to The Sun, who first wrote about the incident, on Grand Central Rail’s website train tickets for a journey from York to King’s Cross are priced anywhere from £33 to £241.
