From Ginger Spice to lady of the manor: Geri Horner and her husband Christian submit plans for £30k glasshouse at their country estate

Geri Horner and her husband, F1 team boss Christian Horner, have re-submitted plans for a £30,000 glasshouse at their country estate.

Ginger Spice Geri, 49, who won The Great Celebrity Bake Off, wants to work on her healthy home cooking skills after the show.

The couple plan on growing their own vegetables, in keeping with Geri’s new life as a domestic goddess.

Geri and Horner had hoped to knock down their current greenhouse and replace it with a 36ft one.

They had a set back when the council said it was too big and have now tried their luck for a 29ft one.

The couple share not one but two enormous houses, a country home near Banbury, Oxfordshire, and another pad in Hertfordshire.

The singer married Christian, 48, in 2015, and they share a son named Monty, five. She shares daughter Bluebell with her screenwrite ex Sacha Gervasi, with whom she had a relationship with in 2005.

It comes after she enjoyed a £1million payout as she drew on the cash made from the girl band’s reform three years ago.

Geri took out a £1,008,420 dividend from her firm Wonderful Productions Limited, which was five times more than her pay of £200,000 the previous year.

The payment was made between September 2020 and the end of August last year during some of the worst months of the Covid lockdowns.

It left a dent in her company reserves which went down from £3million to £2million as a result of the payout.

The company made a profit of just £5,646 in the year as income from the 2019 tour began to dry up.

The figures add weight to the possibility that the Spice Girls will reunite again for a series of gigs which proved lucrative to the band last year.

Melanie Chisholm – Sporty Spice, 48 – recently said the possible reunion is something all the bandmates ‘passionately want’.

Mel Brown, 47, said last year: ‘We’re hoping, especially me – if it has anything to do with me, which it will have because I’m the driving force and will make sure it happens – to tour in 2023.’

In March, it was reported that The Spice Girls were in fresh talks to headline Glastonbury as the final stop on their world tour, which is proposed for 2023.

Reports stated Victoria Beckham had previously said she would perform with bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri and Mel B if it were at a festival.

A source close to the girl band told The Sun: ‘There have been bumps in the road, particularly where Geri is concerned, but the plan is still that the girls’ world tour will go ahead next year.

The idea is that it will kick off in 2023, and finish at Glastonbury. Victoria has previously said that she would perform with them at the festival. So that would be the perfect way to round off the tour.’
