Though wedding plans may still be on hold due to the pandemic, one thing is for certain about Gwen Stefani‘s upcoming wedding to Blake Shelton – her children will play a large role in the ceremony.
The singer’s three sons – Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, six – ‘will have a large part’ in her nuptials, a source has told People.
‘Gwen’s sons are just really solid, sweet kids, and they’re so excited for Blake and Gwen to get married,’ sources told the site. ‘They can’t wait to stand by their sides.’

Gwen shares her three children with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and Blake has always been mindful about his place in the family.
‘From the beginning, Gwen made it clear to Blake that her boys were No. 1 in her life, and Blake always respected this,’ sources told the site.
‘He never wanted to overstep and made sure everyone was comfortable with his role in her sons’ lives,’ the insider said.
Both Gwen and Blake were getting through divorces at the time they first met each other on The Voice five years ago.

While it was their mutual heartbreak that initially brought them together, the friendship soon developed into something romantic.
‘At first they were bonding over their splits and finding light in one another, but they quickly realized they have so much more in common than just going through heartbreak,’ the source said.
‘They’re both incredibly close to their families and their lives are rooted deeply in their faith. He just fit so seamlessly into her life, and vice versa.’

The couple announced their engagement in October with a shot of the pair kissing as Gwen flashed her new diamond ring.

But with COVID cases surging, the couple are playing it by ear with the wedding planning.
‘Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for COVID, so we’re sort of like gonna see what happens in the next few months,’ Gwen said on The Ryan Seacrest Show.
