Nine people have been charged with misdemeanors and health code violations after authorities shut down a New York City Halloween bash that had nearly 400 partygoers.

The New York City Sheriff’s Office revealed that the massive party took place in a Brooklyn Warehouse and was busted at 1am.

When deputies arrived, they discovered at least 387 people in attendance for the illegal party that violated the city’s large gathering mandate.

Photos shared by the New York City Sheriff’s Office showed the revelers squeezed shoulder-to-shoulder inside the warehouse, where only some people were seen wearing face masks.

Local officials have listed part of Brooklyn a hot spot zone as Mayor Bill de Blasio cautioned last week against an uptick in cases in the five boroughs.

‘The growth is what worries me. We cannot allow that number to keep growing,’ he said, referring to the seven-day rolling positivity average of 1.92 – the highest average in months.

‘We must be really strong at this moment. Where we’re telling people to play it safe, it’s not just an idle message. People should not travel for the holidays unless it is absolutely necessary. We’ve got to be really careful.’

New York City has recorded more than 268,000 infections and 24,001 deaths.

Deputies told NBC4 that they found three walk-up bars in addition to a DJ.

Deputies charged nine party organizers, as well as others for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and violating the gathering mandate.

News of the Halloween party came as the U.S. tracked record one-day totals for COVID-19 last week. Friday saw the country amass more than 90,000 cases.

Overall, more than 9million cases and 230,119 deaths have been reported in the U.S.
