Home and Away: Kate Ritchie brings her daughter along for breakfast with Ray Meagher

Kate Ritchie enjoys breakfast in Noosa with her daughter Mae, eight, and her Home and Away co-star Ray Meagher – as fans say they look like Alf and Sally

Long-time fans of Home and Away did a double take on Saturday when Kate Ritchie went out for breakfast in Noosa with her lookalike daughter Mae and former co-star Ray Meagher.

She posted a photo on Instagram of Ray, who has played Alf Stewart on the Aussie soap since 1988, sitting at an outside table with eight-year-old Mae and helping her read a children’s book.

Kate’s fans said the photo was just like looking at ‘Alf and Sally’ from Home and Away, referring to her character Sally Fletcher, who was introduced on the show as a child.

‘Breakfast with these two precious humans was just splendid,’ the 44-year-old mother of one captioned the post.

Many of Kate’s followers remarked that Mae is about the same age Kate was when she first appeared on Aussie TV screens, and having Ray next to her was like seeing a glimpse of an old Home and Away episode.

‘How wonderful! Ray gets to be a part of Mae’s life, too. What a blessing,’ one fan wrote.

‘Home and Away hasn’t been the same without Sally Fletcher,’ another commented.

One fan said the photo was ‘Iike a time warp backwards’.

‘Alf and Sally!’ another said. A similar comment read: ‘Imagine sitting in the same cafe as this. You’d be thinking, “Flamin’ heck, there’s Sally and Alf over there!”‘

Kate seems to be in a much better place than she was late last year when she spent time in a rehab clinic to address her dependence on alcohol.

She recently to social media to reassure fans she was ‘doing well’ and would be back on her Nova FM radio show in a few weeks’ time.

Kate had announced she was stepping away from Kate, Tim and Joel show in October, before it was revealed she was seeking treatment.

Ricki-Lee Coulter has been filling in during her absence.
