The one-time home of Aussie Hollywood star Toni Collette goes under the hammer for $5.8m
A gorgeous pad that was at one time the home of Australian-born Hollywood star Toni Collette has gone under the hammer for a whopping $5.815million.
Featuring three-bedrooms and two-bathrooms the sprawling property was rented by Colette, 50, who split from her husband Dave Galafassi last year reports Domain.
Situated in the harbourside suburb of Birchgrove in the city’s inner-west, the gorgeous three-level free-standing cottage is just 10mins from the CBD.
Featuring stunning views of Sydney‘s iconic skyline and harbour bridge, the classic spread is a stylish combination of original features with luxurious updates.
Highlights include beautifully scaled interiors, with soaring ceilings, timber floors, Leadlight windows and Velux skylights.
Meanwhile, the master bedroom boasts a lavish ensuite with expansive wardrobes.
There’s also a large gourmet kitchen, private office and a delightful private verandah.
The property, which was bought by a local doctor on September, last changed hands in 2010 for $1.5million.
Colette’s Birchgrove neighbours included Australian acting ‘royalty’ Bryan Brown and his wife, Rachel Ward, who bought a harbourside pad nearby in 1994.
Colette is one of Australia’s most acclaimed actors, starring in The Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine, The Hours, Knives Out and the television series United States of Tara.
She was nominated for an Oscar for The Sixth Sense and won an Emmy for United States of Tara, for which she also picked up a Golden Globe.
It comes after the Muriel’s Wedding star announced last December she was splitting from her musician husband, Dave Galafassi, 44.
The couple, who were together for nearly 20 years have two children aged 14 and 11 and have divided their time between Australia and the United States in recent years.
The pair met in 2002 at the launch of Galafassi’s band Gelbison’s debut album Metal Detector in Sydney and their second encounter came just a few days later at a house party.
Galafassi confirmed their split in December when he was pictured passionately kissing chiropractor Shannon Egan at Manly Beach in Sydney.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Toni’s management about the photos, and hours later she announced the couple had split in a joint statement released on her newly reactivated Instagram account.
‘It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing,’ the pair wrote.
‘We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other.
